That was the plan ever since they chose the Metrodome site. The only question was how long. Looks like it will only be two seasons depending on the construction schedule. They played a game last year there when the dome collapsed. It wasn't really ready for a mid winter game. I wonder what they will do to improve it for NFL consumption.
Kind of the same plan the Bears used back when they completely redid Soldier Field. They played at least one season in Champaign. TCF is at least still in the city.

That was "weird" when the Bears played in Champaign in 2002(?). If nothing else, it allowed U of I to do massive renovations to Memorial Stadium.
The Seahawks played at Husky Stadium in 2001.

Champaign is such a hike, I'm surprised they did it. Then again, I know of a ton of Packer season ticket holders who live in Milwaukee. HWY 41 is a nightmare on game day.

I was surprised when that they didn't try to work something out with Northwestern or Notre Dame for the season. They probably wanted the money to stay within the state so they settled on Champaign.
Some of those Packer fans probably wish there were still a game or two in Milwaukee. I miss those old random County Stadium games...
