He's using total enrollment. Your numbers add up to his total. W&M number is total. We have 5700 undergraduates.

Fordham's total represents its undergraduate enrollment in its five distinct undergraduate colleges. Fordham's overall enrollment in all 11 of its undergraduate or graduate division exceeds 14,000.

Fordham's total represents its undergraduate enrollment in its five distinct undergraduate colleges. Fordham's overall enrollment in all 11 of its undergraduate or graduate division exceeds 14,000.
When it comes to the NCAA, all they care about is undergraduate enrollment, since many member schools don't have graduate programs, even on the Division I level (i.e., Holy Cross and Lafayette).
I'm curious though, of Fordham's undergraduate enrollement (~7,000), what percentage of that is considered "commuter." I realize the term "commuter student" can be applied rather broadly. For instance, Over 70% of Arizona's undergrad student body is considered commuter, but that's because they lack on-campus housing. A big chunk of those "commuter" students moved to Tucson or closer to campus and rent housing off campus. But, because they're not in University controlled housing, they're considered "commuter."

The "Accepted" definition of a commuter is one who does not live in University owned/sponsored housing (I worked in Residential Life as an undergrad at NU). NU's number of commuters is still high despite an increase in on campus housing because of the number of students on co-op who don't live in/around Boston.
I think it's a crazy definition. I lived on campus and was further away from the Quad than my current wife who lived in a private apartment. She was a commuter, I wasn't.
I don't think that using graduate enrollments should be considered in any analysis. NU has a bunch of people who take a single class for professional certifications who are considered "graduate students". You're not really comparing apples-to-apples.
A fair analysis would be full time undergraduate students.

I'll see what I can dig up for you, Marcus. It's always been a pretty healthy percentage of live at home students from the NYC area attending but the number has gradually gone down and down, if I understand it correctly. Nonetheless I think it's still a much higher % than other PL and other non-metro schools (guess).
For what it's worth, my wife was a Fordham "'muter".

I find this very interesting seeing just how many huge schools there are in I-AA. Is there any place you could find all of the I-AA schools ordered by enrollment?
Edit: I'd really like to see some kind of enrollment vs attendance numbers.

Is UCD now the largest school in I-AA? Odd, considering we were D2 two years ago. The dept. of education numbers are a little outdated, here (http://facts.ucdavis.edu/numbers.lasso) are updated numbers. Looks like the Causeway Classic between the two largest schools in I-AA?
