Linebacker Cordero Finley scored a defensive touchdown and added a safety, while wide receiver Kenny Golladay scored a pair of touchdowns to lead the White Team to a 24-14 victory over the Green Team on Saturday in North Dakota's annual Spring Game at the Alerus Center.
Golladay led all receivers with six catches for 78 yards and a 17-yard touchdown reception and also added an 8-yard rushing score. White Team quarter Joe Mollberg went 14-for-20 for 153 yards and the throwing strike to Golladay.
Mollberg would march his team down the field on a 10-play drive that was capped by an 8-yard reverse run for a touchdown by Golladay. He added a little excitement for the crowd by dunking the ball over the goalpost.
The Big Ten officials whistled him for unsportsmanlike conduct, but the White Team was still able to convert the 2-point conversion from the 18-yard line. Senior Blair Townsend made a tremendous diving catch to secure the two points and put his team in the lead at 22-8.
Sounds like Defense was pretty good, Golladay may do this year what Hardin did last year, and maybe Mollberg can try out for UND's basketball team as well.
