Well... It's unique, I'll give them that. Looks like they are the first sports team to use the company.

Maine Football’s complete 70-man roster was assessed using MLI’s Leadership Evaluation Training Tool (LETT)® to measure each player’s emotional strengths and their mental and physical toughness. The LETT® assessment evaluates more than 20 different emotional intelligence attributes that measure self-leadership, coachability, mental durability, team leadership and team building.

From the company website:

The Center for Cognitive Sports Performance (CogSports) develops cutting edge proprietary instruments used to identify, measure, and assess the “intangibles” within athletes and teams, including emotional intelligence, hardiness, resiliency, leadership and mental toughness among other attributes. In conjunction with these tools, the CogSports team includes an expert staff to provide training, support, and ongoing consultation to address and improve, among other traits, performance, emotional control, confidence, self-awareness and focus.

Seems like we have to have a 'metric' for everything these days. Some things cannot really be measured as much as Man would like compartmentalize.

Emotional strength? Mental toughness?

I wonder if this was inspired by Jovan Belcher.

Hmmm, sounds kind of touchy-feely for football. So if it comes back that the player is better suited for planting flowers do they get their scholarship pulled.:)

If a player scores in the lowest 20 percentile, will he wear a pink jersey to remind coaches not to yell at them?
