FBS? New stadium?

The new fee will generate $2.5 million this coming year and $2.8 million thereafter.

ETSU is obviously looking at building a new stadium. I have heard some messageboard chatter that ETSU should be looked at for the Sun Belt since the Tri-Cities is similar in TV markets with most others in the SBC (but that is a few years away).

Just got back from the week before last from seeing them play in a cave (PBS taping of Bluegrass Underground at Cumberland Caverns).

6th time we have seen them in the last year, including New Years at the Ryman and a private show for less than 150 in Chattanooga.

Saw Mumford etal do a great rendition of it at the Gentleman of the Road tour in Bristol last summer.

Good times.

Excited about this since it's close to home, but I think some local fans are a little too enamored with the success of App State to have a realistic view of the immediate success of their program. They will benefit from the SoCon defections of App State and Georgia Southern, and should land there, but any FBS visions are probably way down the line...I think the local high school talent - to the extent you can keep them from agreeing to be a third string at UT - will help them have success, but I think they're a ways from being playoff contenders. I also think the facilities they decide to build will have a lot to do with it. A nice football stadium by itself will no longer cut it. The training facilities at the mini-dump will not pull recruits away from competing teams, so those will need a substantial upgrade as well.

The most expensive decision ETSU ever made was deciding to save money by cutting football 10 years ago...
