Tuition and fees for an instate student at App is right at $2,000 per semester
EKU05

EKU is the least expensive 4 year school in Kentucky at...
$2,596 per semester for in-state kids (and that's after several record increases the last few years)
$7,269 for out of state students. A little more expensive, until I realize that my high school's tuition is now more than that.
Also, there is targeted tution for students from certain counties in...
Illinois
Indiana
Missouri
Ohio
Tennessee
Virginia
West Virginia
The targeted tution rate for 2006-07 is $4,130
You can also get in state tution if you come to EKU for a program not offered in your state. I know a few people that did this for things like Fire & Saftey and Forensic Science.

Um, not Lafayette... I'd guess it's at $44,000. Projected 4.5% increases up to 2009, putting it at 49,000... yikes.... it's way too much...
Now Appy St... that's a deal..

it's free for me, but from the forms i fill out, it's more than that when you add in all the "fees".

In state tuition at UNI this year is $5,086 for the year. Various fees add $1,026, Room and board is $5,740.
This is about double from when I was there in the early 90s.

Georgia Southern University is $1,501.00 per semester for in-state undergraduates.

Although if you can keep a 3.0 GPA your tuition is waived thanks to HOPE and all the lotto players in GA.

I'm not sure that anyone will be able to point to which school is flat out cheapest, but Kiplinger does a ranking of best values overall. Looking through the list, the I-AA top 10 would be:
SCHOOL (OVERALL RANK)
1. William & Mary (#4)
2. Delaware (#13)
3. JMU (#17)
4. App State (#33)
5. Stony Brook (#35)
6. Cal Poly (#45)
7. Albany (#46)
8. Murray State (#54)
9. UC Davis (#58)
10. UNH (#80)
UMass also falls just outside the top 10 at #81 overall. I guess you could say that the A10 is the best value in I-AA. :)

Speaking of Furman,
did you hear the one about the two baptist ministers drinking on a fishing trip?

Even here the Great West has 2 out of 5 in the top 10.
The problem is not the price of the school, it is the price of living here.

I would love to see a breakdown of the scholarship vs non-scholarship schools based on tuition.
My guess is the vast majority of scholarship schools offer lower tuition and the non-scholarship schools on the higher end of the scale...

FU is certainly not one of the cheapest. With another hike this year tuition + room and board is around $36,000 a year.
Now Appy St... that's a deal..
That depends on how much you value you're education, hah.:smiley_wi
Just kidding, I have a few friends and family members who have been through App, and all have turned out well.
