#1 Sdsu widened the gap against a horrible #8 IUPUI team in the closing minutes. I was astounded how hard SDSU had to fight to win this game.
#2 WIU beats #7 USD by 1 point, 54-53. USD lead for quite some time.

Delaware gets knocked off by JMU. Head coach (for now) Monte Ross immediately blasts the CAA and officials to the press, intimating that there was a conspiracy against the Fightin' Blue Hens to allow a team from Virginia to continue on and saying that the referees cheated the Hens to help the Dukes. Ross pulls a Rob Ambrose impression, but instead of a weak sauce handshake, he and numerous UD players simply refuse to shake hands with JMU after the game. xsmhx

In a truly heartbreaking day, both Mens and Womens Basketball lose close semifinals games. The men's game was a 62-65 loss to Davidson, who will meet Charleston in the title game. I was really hoping we could pull off the upset bid. But this roller coaster of a season is finally over.

It's NDSU (24-8) vs SDSU (24-9) for the right to represent the Summit League in the Big Dance tomorrow night at 8PM CT on ESPN2.
What an epic year for the rivalry as they've now met in the postseason in both football and basketball. In contrast to the football meeting in Fargo, the basketball meeting will be in SDSU's backyard (Sioux Falls, SD) in what I would expect to be a very partisan crowd despite the fact that Sioux Falls is a fairly short drive from Fargo.

Liberty was quite a surprise.
Believe me when I say that the Liberty fans (especially the ones that post here) were just as surprised at our run superman...the consensus (and Sly Fox can probably verify this one for me) was that we would lose our first or second game, and Coach Layer's job situation would probably be seriously re-evaluated (i.e. he'd probably be canned) upon their return to Lynchburg, but they just kept on winning and now we are checking out our possible opponents in Dayton

So assuming that Liberty is inserted into what has historically been a "play-in" game but is now considered the 1st round, if they get a win, what a mixed bag that would be whenever the off-season starts. A tournament win but 20 losses, you have to love and hate the coach at the same time.

There are five schools that have been in D1 since 1939, that have never been to the tournament, Northwestern is one, William & Mary is another, can you name the rest?
Hint: Two coaches that have won NCAA titles at other schools coached one and the other two are FCS schools

That ending kills me everytime I see it. It's a disgrace to the game.
Sure call a foul on the shove underneath on the foul shot. The Richmond guy did extend his fore arm quite a bit. I have no problem with you calling a foul and giving Charlotte 2 more foul shots, even though a no call wouldn't have been the end of the world. Or even better yet call offsetting technicals, the ultimate "by rule we need to call that a foul even though it really shouldn't warrant one call". The Charlotte player was giving it to the Richmond guy just as much underneath and ended with a Duke/Spanish soccer player flop. I get that a contact foul in a dead ball situation is by rule a technical, but that was just hideous....
And don't get me started on giving them the shooting foul on the 3 pointer following the foul shots.....
Those ref's completely took the game out of the players (well atleast the Richmond players' hands). I hope they don't ref another game for awhile

He went to the Charlotte player's head, it was justified. What happened afterwards not so much.
Charlotte had 4 of their top guys foul out. 10 more foul called against us than Richmond but no one is talking about that. Refs sucked all around.

I wouldn't say he went for the head....but it was a high fore arm for sure. I didn't watch the rest of the game, foul differential doesn't always mean bad officiating, but this is coming from a guy who's school shoots more FTs than any team in the nation

The "good side" of winning the regular season title, is NIT now creates space for those regular season crown winners who don't win the tourney. Rough being the #2 seed sharing a title, and not have that be a possibility.
