Didn't Darnell Taylor sustain a pretty serious knee injury in the national title game? He's back healthy enough for pro day?

Yes he tore his ACL & MCL. I'm not sure how much if anything he will be able to do. I think his main reason for being there is for moral support for his brother.

Wasn't it one of the Taylor boys that hurt his knee in the championship game? How is he doing? If he is gonna be able to work out on pro day it must not have been as bad as it looked. Either way good luck to all your guys!

UNI's Terrel Sinkfield ran a 4.19 40 at Minnesota's pro day today. I haven't heard much about him getting drafted but I'd have to assume that some team is going to take a flier on him just based on his speed, his 40.5" vertical, and his decent size at 6'1".

Not a pro day, but JMU's Earl Watford did extremely well in the NFL combine last month. Here's one independent review:

4.19 in the 40?

Just call him flash...now if he could do that with the uniform on. Yikes! Either way, that's one fast dude.

The two best prospects on that list are Gabbard and Brock. Although, nobody on that list really is considered someone who will make it from what I have seen. I hope they do well because I have a feeling none of them are a lock to get a contract after the draft without a good pro day. I will say that I was intrigued by Brock early in his career but he tapered off. Terrell was a good D2 RB who transferred up when his school dropped football. Never heard of Goodlit though. Did he play much?

I'm told by scouts he ran a 4.46 and 4.47 on May 16th of last year. Looking forward to seeing what scouts actually got him at during this workout because going from a 4.46 to 4.19 in 9 months is a huge difference. Either way looks like he is fast!

Nobody runs a sub 4.3 forty. When I ever hear a sub 4.2, I just laugh and wait until he runs an electronic 4.56

4.20 or below is usually never legit but I have seen a sub 4.3 timed by NFL scouts. It can happen so I would not laugh at it. I will say I'm skeptical of this 4.19 only because I don't remember a player looking that fast.

From another source

Scott Studwell, the Vikings’ director of college scouting, was also timing Sinkfield and told the Pioneer Press that Sinkfield is fast, but he didn’t break 4.3 seconds in any of his three 40-yard dash attempts.

He obviously was fast but the Combine official times are electronically timed (not FAT) as opposed to this which looks like it was hand timed. In track a conversion from hand to FAT time adds .24 seconds (probably .12 for start and .12 for end - so would mean .12 to the Sinkfield hand time for a 4.31 to make equivalent to CJ's time).

Still fast though. Not saying that he was that much slower than Johnson but likely slower

Interesting article I found while confirming my thoughts.

The results of last year's experiment with fully automated timing were revealed only to "a small committee of two or three," according to one NFL team executive, who guessed that the times were so high they might "take the luster off the star in this show."

Posted on the other thread but was told he ran 4.36 and 4.39 as fastest times by NFL teams. Still good but not quite 4.19 good. He doesn't have draftable tape but so many people wanted to say he might get drafted because of the 4.19, which never happened. Not trying to down the kid because he is fast and I do think he should get a tryout or contract for sure.

Yes the different times were electronic from start to finish. The times were much slower. I was told guys who ran a 4.55 had a 4.65-4.75 range by that standard. Those 40s are much more accurate but we can't ever have those out in public because players would think the surface at the combine is slow. Believe it or not, despite what agents say, the surface at Indy is fast. It's about as fast as you can run on without them adding to the times.
