Perhaps the Lions may find the endzone now when we play them the next couple of times. xsmiley_wix

Good get for SLU. Brian Bennett QB from Oregon to transfer...

Definitely a big transfer for SLU, who lost top two QBs (Nathan Stanley and Brian Young) to graduation ... Bennett becomes the third transfer FBS QB to come in since 2008 (Tyler Beatty from Baylor; transferred due to RGIII and Stanley from Ole Miss; due to Jeremiah Masoli).

Biggest difference between Bennett and the other two is Bennett will be here for spring practice whereas Beatty and Stanley got here in the summer. Bennett also has considerably more game experience and was higher rated coming out of HS. Plus he's faster and more mobile.

Bennett can play. He just barely got beat out by Mariota and that dude is sick.

Ron Roberts is doing things right in Hammond. SELA will be a SLC championship contender in the next few years.

Congrats Lions (I still hope SFA beats you when we play)

He's the real deal ... I have no doubt he'll get a chance on the FBS level soon, and eventually a BCS gig ... hopefully we can keep him long enough to get ourselves established. The pieces are in place to have a big year in 2013, just have to navigate a tough schedule.

Yes, RonRob is definitely changing the mentality for the better in Hammond. Now that he has a full year under his belt, look for SLU to be a Southland contender very soon (like 2013 instead of the next few years ;)) ... With the success of SHSU, UCA the past two years along with McNeese, SFA and Northwestern State ... an improved SLU (no SELA or SELU please) team will definitely make the Southland one of the premier FCS conferences in the coming years.

We may be getting a "Bryan Bennett Effect" in recruiting too if the visitors on campus this weekend are any indication ... Robert Alford doing work in the Senior Bowl isn't hurting either... helluva class taking shape if everything holds.

Umm no ... it's SLU. Always will be. We don't call Sam Houston, S.H.I.T., don't know what's so hard about SLU.

SELA is good name. It flows. It's unique. If someone said "SLU" I wouldn't know what the hell they are talking about. It sound like your riding LSU's coat tails or something. Keep SELA. It's better.
