I saw Arranger's bulldog on another thread and since we post everything else, does your campus have a replica of your mascot.

Nope we don't have any Bobcats, all though I hear there used to be a live one in the Quad. Now we have horses...don't ask, cause I don't know. I'm on a POS Mac right now so I don't now how to get a picture. Maybe some of the other Bobcat faithful here can help me out.

August 24th, 2006, 02:46 PM
McNeese just built a new entranceway wall to the campus. There is a pedestal in front of the wall that will have a light bronze colored statue like the picture of the darker colored one below. It will stand about 15 foot tall.

He's not pissed the statue was modeled by the artist from a picture of Yosef signalling a Touchdown after a two point play was intercepted and run back for the winning two points Oct 12 2002. :D :D :D I forget the team we were playing maybe you can help jog my memory. Anyway that's why he's called Touchdown Yosef.
Disclaimer the above is total bs on where that statue came from;)

Northeastern has a statue of our mascot "King Husky" in the endzone of Parsons Field, in the Ell Center on campus, and there's a "portable" one they bring to major events.
It's considered good luck to rub the dog's nose.

Well, now I know where the Furman diamond comes from. Cool!
Furman's football team and athletics program are represented by the diamond "F", which was first employed in 1973 and is still used on the school's football helmets. The creation of former Furman head coach and athletics director Dick Sheridan, who at the time was a young assistant on head coach Art Baker's staff, the diamond has been copied (and letters changed) by numerous high school football teams in South Carolina and Georgia, often times by former Furman players now in the coaching ranks.
The the tip of the lance on that statue was designed to incorporate the design, not the other way around. I did, however, like the idea.

We'll be dedicating a Wildcat sculpture this year at homecoming. But for many years, we've had a stuffed version of one of the live mascots (Maizie) on display in Lundholm!
