That's real interesting that GSU/SHSU split perfectly down the middle for the No. 2... I thought I'd be one of the few ranking GSU above SHSU, but evidently I was mistaken.

Agreed danefan, pretty much no logical reason for anyone to put Lehigh in the Top 15, especially with Colgate behind them. Among the weakest SOS in D1, didn't win their conference or make the playoffs, got beaten by double digits at home after getting shut out in the 2nd half of the de facto PL championship game, signature win was over a 6-5 Liberty team whose only non-conference win was over a D2 school. Other than homerism or not paying attention, it's hot garbage.

Your #21-#25 would easily handle your #17 and #19.
CCU shouldnt have been anywhere near the playoffs. They could hardly handle Vermin.

Yeah, that's why I said #17 and #19. Neither of them would be able to handle the bottom 5. Heck, El Cid would have cleaned them up too. especially the way we were playing at the end of the season.

The voters must not have remembered that Lehigh did not make the playoffs, even with one loss, and that Colgate did... and yet, Colgate is ranked below Lehigh.
My final poll is similar, with Indiana St., Tennessee-Martin, and Harvard in lieu of CCU, BCU, and Lehigh.

I knew that you and I agreed on the subject, mine was meant to be more of a question about the ranking of BCC ahead of CCU. Both got in due to auto-bids, I would hope that they wouldn't have otherwise. Personally, I didn't even have either of them in my final top 25.

How could anyone rank New Hampshire ahead of Towson? Towson has scored 120 points on UNH in the past two years and tied UNH for the CAA title (along with Villanova and Richmond). Towson also handled Villanova pretty easily.

Towson might have given NDSU the best game it had during the playoffs, if the Tigers would have had the chance. Towson was playing well enough to make it to Frisco at the end of the season.

I'm xdeadhorsex here but SDSU should be higher than that in the preseason polls next year. They're returning all their offensive skill players and some very good young players on defense. I think they're losing their defense captain in Shafrath (sp?) but I would have them at preseason #2 in the MVFC ahead of both SIU and UNI.

It isn't very scientific. The Jack Rabbits are definitely on my radar though. I just have a feeling UNI will come back with vengeance and SIU a sleeping giant in the MVFC. I believe Youngstown St. and Indiana St. missed their opportunities this season.

I would switch a few around, but generally, this looks like one of the best pre-season guesses I've seen in years. Of course we all know there will be a surprise team that come from nowhere to make the top ten. NDSU looks like a tough three-pete to overcome. Can't imagine anyone with sense will argue the number 1 preseason spot. Damn! How many days til next season????

We are returning nearly our entire 2 deep on the offensive line and are adding a couple Redshirt freshmen to the mix on the O line. Losing two starting receivers but we have two more years of Sumner and Zenner. Losing some starters on D we will miss but we've got some good young guys coming up. We should be decent. We have UNI, NDSU, SIU, and ISU-b all at home which is nice.

Should I have Indiana State ranked ahead of NDSU? Maybe Central Arkansas ahead of SHSU? Perhaps Texas A&M ahead of Alabama in FBS?
Why do you fail to mention Towson being 11 spots ahead of a JMU team they lost to? Because it's not Lehigh right? You should have realized by now that Lehigh finished ahead of Colgate in EVERY poll!
I'm confident both Lehigh and Towson are better than a handful of teams that made the playoffs. Just because you lose 1 league game in 3 years does not mean you're not a good team. Lehigh was still one of only 9 teams in the country to reach 10 wins this season. I also have no problem with ranking Ivy League teams into the Final 15 when warranted either.
The biggest screwup in my poll was not where I ranked Lehigh but where I didn't rank Richmond. The Spiders are another team that should be ahead of 4 or 5 playoff squads.

I'm confident both Lehigh and Towson are better than a handful of teams that made the playoffs.
Unless you're talking about Lehigh being better than a few autobids I disagree. Towson was arguably better than teams like Stony Brook and UNH but the only basis for saying Lehigh was better than any of those teams is the "just trust me" argument and that doesn't hold water at the end of the season.
Seemed to me that there were a lot of people trying to justify Lehigh being ranked highly by also ranking Colgate. Colgate was ranked 25th in the final regular season poll and then jumped 4 spots despite losing to Wagner in their first playoff game. Similarly Wagner went from 29th to 17th by beating Colgate and losing to EWU. Might have had a lot to do with the fact that the final poll only had half the voters of the last regular season poll but there was certainly some curious movement out of the small east coast schools.
