I think this will be a key stat. The Bison defense forces fumbles unlike the last two teams. When a team just gives it up against a ball hawking defense, that spells mucho trouble.

Thanks for posting the link. In my experience it would almost be better not to get all worked up about fumbles as players because it takes away from the game when you are worried about fumbling instead of playing.

Thats just my opinion.

Corners are great cover guys, one of them was an all-american last year. The D-Line, year-in and year-out is the strength of the team, but this year the linebackers are the stars, anchored by All-Americans Mike Niam and Alvin Scieaneaux (definitely spelled that wrong). We blitz a good bit, but we're also really good in pass coverage. Teams may complete passes down field but we're really good at wrapping up on the tackle to where very few teams have beaten us deep for points this year. We run a zone defense for the most part, with that said, teams have not really burned us this year in spite of that. We're really good at getting pressure and forcing opposing QBs to make mistakes.

Thanks!! In my opinion the best way to beat us is keep 8-9 in the box and play press man to man on the outside. We usually do much better against a zone than man to man. We have possession WR that are good at finding the holes in the zone.

We keep everything in front of us defensively. Generally speaking, I don't worry about the run game as much as I do the pass game.

We do have quite a good OL, however, Brock is more than capabale of making game losing mistakes.

our front 3 switch in and out all game to keep fresh. the defense counts on their ability to maintain the line of scrimmage. linebackers are the callers, readers and playmakers for sure but people mistake LB read & react decisions as blitz packages. we actually don't blitz a great deal (wish we would more) but rather let athletic and intelligent LB's make plays. we need big plays from the DL saturday!

our secondary has been a weakness for a long time but are fairly solid now. we struggle with giving up chunks but have held up better in the red zone. superb strong safety that plays the run and pass well. please tell your #16 to complete a couple to ANY of the above mentioned...

Not sure fires are allowed at tailgating, but you would likely get some dirty looks because of all the nylon and other synthetic fabric tents and winter coats that wouldn't do so well with an ember landing on them. Most setups will have propane heaters set up. I think the usual tactic employed by NDSU tailgaters to keep warm is the standard "drink 'till you don't care" method. That, combined with proper winter weather attire usually does quite well. A couple people in my tailgating group have a tradition where we try and track down fans of the opposing team tailgating to do shots of my homemade redeye with, so if I see you in your gear or you come looking, expect a shot to help warm you up! I think I gave shots to about 30 Jacks fans last weekend.

Currently looks like a low of 6 and a high of 28 and snowy. NWS has an advisory for a potential winter storm this weekend, so please drive careful when you visit.

we have a red shirt freshman (a tank) & freshman (a bulldog) that play nose guard. both do a solid job of being immovable (hopefully that will continue against your big OL. the tackles/DE position is played by 4 guys that also give consistent efforts. #99 is fun to watch and will be one of the better ones ever before he leaves wofford (has a knack for the big play).

So true last year at the cat Griz game in Bozeman there were quite a few who got to close, melting their snow pants, and even catching on fire. They did have a couple of inches of wood chips on the ground to help keep your feet warm, which was nice.

We're surprised he didn't all-conference recognition, or at least freshman all conference recognition. He's a redshirt freshman, but he's a stud. We haven't had too much trouble this year in terms of being run straight at us, normally that's a slight weakness. Granted, we had a little trouble with USC and GSU at some points, but I think that had more to do with being down our best inside linebacker. Even with that said, our defense played great on both occasions, each allowing only 17 points, with both times one of the touchdowns being from them starting inside our 35 or 30 yard line.

NT's in the 3-4 don't get much recognition period, because they don't get a lot of tackles or sacks......thier job is eat up blocks and occupy lineman so the LB's can run free and make plays. If you don't have a good NT who demands double teams your 3-4 won't work for *****. Obviously you have a good one or two judging by your defensive stats.

I'm somewhat concerned but at the same time I'm not. I think our lack of offensive production/fumbles can be attributed to a former walk on playing QB for us the last month or so. Don't get me wrong, Lawson's played well while starting, but we've turned the ball over way too much. Hopefully Kass starts. Or even Weimer.

That recipe looks really blah, though. It's got the basics, but would end up just not tasting that great. The sugar to water to everclear ratio is way off, and simple caramelized sugar without any additives really just isn't that great. Most people who follow that basic recipe add anise. That's how I was taught by my grandpa.

Is your Everclear 151 or 190 proof? I lived in Minnesota for a few months and had to buy cases of Everclear from North Dakota whenever I came back, because in Minnesota they could only sell 151, and most places didn't even sell it. The few that did would charge more per liter than the 190 proof costs in ND. I wasn't old enough when I lived there, but my dad said it was the same when we lived in Washington, only 151 proof available.

Is your Everclear 151 or 190 proof? I lived in Minnesota for a few months and had to buy cases of Everclear from North Dakota whenever I came back, because in Minnesota they could only sell 151, and most places didn't even sell it. The few that did would charge more per liter than the 190 proof costs in ND. I wasn't old enough when I lived there, but my dad said it was the same when we lived in Washington, only 151 proof available.

I remember a Thanksgiving evening many years ago when I worked at the Domino's on 19th Ave N. It snowed like crazy that day and I literally had to work myself out of being stuck in the middle of a street before the plows came through not too far off of 10th Street and about 22nd/23rd ave N. Must have been 5-6 inches of fresh snow drifted up.

I worked at the Domino's in S. Fargo at 25th & University. When we had a snowstorm, those were the best times!! The only 4wd in the group and people be tipping $10-15 on a $20 order just grateful that you got it there.

Agreed. I think the Bison can be defeated which has already been shown. If we can keep from turning the ball over i don't see us losing but once again that's why they play the game. Zenner currently has the most rushing yards this season in the FCS. Breitenstein needs 145 yards on Saturday to pass Zenner. http://content.usatoday.com/sportsdata/football/fcs/stats/rushing

For the season, Zenner averaged 157 yards per game and 7.1 yards per rush. In the 2 games vs. NDSU he averaged 45 yards with an average gain of 3.1 yards.

Never posted before but enjoy reading all the comments. NDSU is an excellent team, obviously they are the #1 seed and #1 in the nation. I don't think any Terrier fan will contest that. You have an excellent defense, again #1. Wofford's (1 dimensional) offense ain't too shabby either. Game after game Wofford has heard that you can't run on our defense and each time we do. Most of the time we win but we have lost some. Same with NDSU, you have heard from other teams that they are different they will move the ball on your defense and guess what, nope nobody does. Looking forward to a good ole' fashion smack you in the mouth football game.

We have have encountered noise in the past, quite possible we never encountered noise like the FargoDome but I am sure the players will look forward to the chance to play in that atmosphere. NDSU may be bigger, stronger, faster and they may knock us down and stop the run. However, them Terriers will pick themselves up and hit you again and again again and again and again...think you get my point. More than likely you will see more dives than you have seen in the whole season combined, even if you stop it. Win or lose, there will be some bruised up players.

One final thing, seems like I am going on and I am sure I am putting folks to sleep. Pre-game, Coach Ayers in the most intense pregame motivater/speaker in the game today most likely in all of football. I was on the team during his 1st year at Wofford, He begain talking about the days when he worked on a garbage truck. Said we have to take hold of our opponent like this trash can. Get a firm grip, focus on what we need to do, and hit them...he began to smash his head into the trash can, then again, and again and again until it was mangled up. Blood dripping down his forhead he looked at the team and said, "Let's take care of business!!" OH, AND WE DID..Now, coach was younger then but he is just as effective. Last years Clemson pre-game speech..words can't describe it. I am sure other Wofford fans can attach the link to the speech (I would screw it up if I tried), love us or hate us that will get your blood moving...Is it Saturday yet?

This is the best defensive line they are gonna see all year (i take that back SC's is better, but I'd imagine we are more disiplined). EB is a slower version of Zenner. I was watching the UNH highlights, and UNH is the worst tackling team I've ever seen. It was like watching EIU vs SDSU in week one.

The only way we lose is if we throw a couple pick 6's. However, I'd imagine we'll be conservative in our offensive approach.

I watched highlights from the Wofford/S.C. game and I was impressed. I have enjoyed getting to know more about Wofford this week and I have gained a lot of respect for your football program. I think you guys will be the team to beat in So-Con if/when App. and GSU move up.

Bison need to put this game away in the first half and make Wofford play catch-up. Our defense creating turnovers, our special teams play and home field advantage will be too much for Wofford to overcome. I am going to stick with my original prediction of 28 to 10 Bison.

Oh goodness, I brought a 1.75 of Everclear 190 to Duluth so a few of my friends could share the fun with me... needless to say 3 shots and only 10 minutes later with an empty stomach from a 6 hour trip, I was pretty hammered. That actually kind of makes me feel better, because a lot of times it seems to be the same deal with Wofford......you know EB is getting it, but stopping it is harder. It feels like he has a bigger percentage of our yards than he actually does, especially since our offense has been stagnant due to injuries lately. Agree, all the games should be on, and I am not including ESPN 3 as on. As a big sky fan, I would love to see the EWU ISU game.

I'm surprised as much as you are, I don't interact with Lakes much, but I've heard of his reputation. He's been extremely reasonable and respectful on terrierfans, which is antithetical to his reputation

On the flip side, if you go on Bisonville, and post:

"I know what you mean. I see a bunch of butGSU/likeGSU comments on this bison board. I fear a full week of "we are so superior, why are we even playing this crowd, why don't they just give us the trophy now" crap is coming. Ugh."

That comment is interpreted as smack. DungeonJoe got as much negative rep as I have positive rep on here for that ONE comment. He posted 5 comments and has been utterly flamed.

I'm all for passion for the game and for the team, but that's not passion, that's creepy insecurity akin to a serial killer blaming his victim for insulting him and thus "provoking him" to murder.

The guy has a passion for NDSU football that is better than 90% of Bison fans out there. Go back and look it up... a very legitimate case can be made that GSU fumbled away two national titles, in 1988 and 1998, so we know aaaaalllllll about it.
