No. 12 Cal Poly (9-2, 7-1 Big Sky), which opened the 2012 campaign with seven straight wins and won its final two games of the regular season to clinch an NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision playoff berth, opens its third bid for the FCS title Saturday afternoon, visiting No. 5 Sam Houston State (8-3, 6-1 Southland) for a second-round contest inside Elliott T. Bowers Stadium (14,000) in Huntsville, Texas.
