The good news is Stony Brook now has a holodeck: http://gizmodo.com/5962319/the-holodeck-is-real-and-its-in-stony-brook-ny

The bad news is the game will be played on a football field, not a holodeck, and Stony Brook may not have their quarterback for Saturday's game: http://www.newsday.com/sports/college/stony-brook/sbu-s-essington-likely-out-of-playoff-game-1.4251461

I am thinking the holodeck could be used to computer visually simulate defenses and coverages to help QB's make reads in the comfort of the studio

Ouch. I don't even know what to say. I wish Essington the best and hope he makes a speedy recovery. There is literally nothing worse for a team to lose a star player at this time of the year. Hopefully some how he gets healthy to play, I want to take down the machine that is Stony Brook this weekend

OUCH................IF Vegas had a line on this game, it just swung 7-8 points, IMO........

Two years ago, E. Washington's star running back missed game and we still lost.

Certainly a big loss if Essington does not play, but, it just means team will rally around back up.

How much regular season playing time for the backup? UC Davis went into the D2 national championship game against Southwest Texas State with a backup QB after our starter Ken O'Brien (later NY Jets) was hurt in the semi-final aganist NDSU. Didn't get completely blown out but still about 31-12.
