Illinois State senior quarterback Matt Brown posted some of the best statistical numbers of his career in 2012 and led the Redbirds to their first playoff appearance since 2006. For his efforts, Brown was named the 2012 Missouri Valley Football Conference Offensive Player of the Year Wednesday, in a vote conducted by the league's head coaches, sports information directors and members of the media.
