Eastern Illinois Duo of Lora and Babers Highlight 2012 OVC Football Honors

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Ohio Valley Conference champion Eastern Illinois took home two of the four major 2012 postseason OVC football awards while Southeast Missouri State won the other two in voting conducted by league head coaches and sports information directors.

2012 All-OVC Football Team

The team consists of 11 total players and is not voted on by position. There were 14 players on the All-OVC second-team (2 QB’s, 5 DL’s, 2 RS’s) due to ties in voting.

As far as TTU players...I have no problems with this - our punter was outstanding all year...You go 3-8, you don't deserve many all conference accolades.

Obviously some good receivers in the OVC this year when Tyrone Goard is 2nd team WR. He may not get the touches that others get in a pass happy attack, but the guy can play and should do so next year for a paycheck.

The OVC is deeper talent wise than it has been in years and that was evident in better OOC results for 2012. Things are looking up in the OVC.
