So, whether you're in the contest or not, who ya got?
I'll admit, I'm picking with my heart, as this is the first time I can ever pick my team to win something like this and not have it be completely ridiculous.
I have ODU upsetting NDSU (again, picking with my heart) and Montana St slipping by EWU on the road and then ODU winning a shootout with Montana St in Frisco.
Anyone have any upsets along the way? I have UNH winning at Wofford, mainly because everyone thinks they shouldn't be in.

I honestly have no idea how we only lost by 1 to them last year. I felt like they dominated both lines the whole game.

MSU's biggest problem has been the propensity to give up big plays - both last year and this year. The defense is stout, but seems like once or twice a game, the defense has a total collapse and gives up a big one. Last year with NH, they mounted two big-play drives at the end of the game. Hell, last week in Cat/Griz the only points they gave up was on a huge TD run. MSU's defense has given up few points throughout this year on long, sustained drives. I think like last year, the goal is to put teams in 3rd and long situations and hold them there. The biggest problem is when our offense decides they need 3 or 4 drives to get on track, while the defense gives up some big plays, you're looking up at a deficit in the 1st quarter. I'm not totally sold on MSU winning it all, but if the offense and defense are both on track at the same time, they are capable of beating any team in the playoffs this year. Our defense, I think though, will keep us in games; the question will be the offense figuring a way to get it together if an opponent finds a way to shut down the run (a la a week ago in Missoula).

Not saying I don't disagree with you, because I just feel this team isn't as focused and due to injuries/graduation not as talented. But to their credit they did play #2 and #3 Valley teams last week and came out with solid wins against both. Thank God they are at the dome for the whole ride or else this has the potential to be a very quick and painful playoff trip.

Well, first off all, even if I buy that, and I don't, they won't have to beat all 9 teams. Secondly, it's not just ODU fans picking them. And lastly, it's my school.
It's awesome that somehow you know 9 team "must" be better. What do you see that everyone else doesn't? And don't say their defense because everyone sees it.

this is a really interesting, and different playoff this year. Normally, we would have a couple of teams, usually, the top 2 seeds, that would be significently better than the rest of the field. This year, I dont see anyone that are a lock to get to Frisco, everyone has serious problems, that are going to carry over into the playoffs. I could see GS, App ND, Montana State, EW, hell, most of the field, having a shot to get to Frisco. It wouldnt surprise me to see App get to Frisco, or to lose in the first round.

I don't believe I would pick a MEAC team in a playoff game until their representatives win at least a couple. I just don't think that they see the competition in the regular season that adequately prepares them for the playoffs, where they are playing the best of all the other conferences.
