Wagner, Saint Francis (PA) and Albany all notched milestone victories during the final week of the regular season and are home to individual weekly award winners as a result. Wagner clinched the NEC’s automatic bid to the NCAA FCS playoffs when NEC Defensive Player of the Week intercepted a pass with under 1:30 remaining in a 23-17 win over Duquesne. Meanwhile, NEC Offensive Player of the Week John Kelly carried the bulk of the load for Saint Francis (PA) in its 44-24 win over Sacred Heart. The senior signal caller rushed for 187 yards and was responsible for four touchdowns as the Red Flash won a program-record fifth game. Albany tied Wagner for a share of the NEC crown by defeating Central Connecticut in Week 12. One of two players to return kickoffs for touchdowns in Week 12, NEC Special Teams Co-Player of the Week Kevin Chillis contributed to the title-clinching triumph. Chillis shared the NEC award with Bryant senior Jordan Brown, who returned a first-quarter kickoff for a touchdown in the first quarter of the Bulldogs’ finale at Patriot League member Bucknell. The NEC Rookie of the Week award remained with Saint Francis (PA) running back Anthony Abeid for the second week in a row.
