JMU-Stowers kid transferring to Rhody?

JMU fans-I was just told TJ Stowers transferred to Rhody-is this true? He was considered a possible 1-A prospect when he came out of HS. How was he doing at JMU?

T.J. Stowers is no longer listed on the JMU Dukes football roster. He redshirted in the 2005 season and still has four years of eligibility. I assumed if he transferred then he is most likely now at Rhode Island with his father. Would he have to sit out in 2006 after a redshirt season at another I-AA program?

Yes. ASFAIK, I-AA transfers to I-AA require a one year red-shirt.

I think there is some rule about if you are going to a University that is in your hometown you can petition to not redshirt. Probably not right though.
