Speaking of the youngsters, we saw a lot from guys like Carp, Pat Watkins, and Pat McQuistan, and I thought of the rookies, Jason Hatcher looked the strongest. We've heard so much of his lanky, speed-type rushing style out of camp, but it took this game for me to realize how truly strong this man is. For the duration of the second half, Hatcher was simply bull rushing the Seahawks' left guard and tackle, and they had no answer for him. Watching his feet was fascinating - they are on this constant motor, and he breaks into this short shuffle before he uses his speed burst to get ahead of his man. His technique was nearly flawless for this stage in his career, and lets face it - even against second and third team offensive linemen, the guy just made them look silly. And when he did decide bust out the moves, he was in on a fumble.

This from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers website:
"Other young players who should enjoy the Bucs’ next film session included rookie CB Alan Zemaitis, who broke up a potential touchdown pass just before halftime, and S Kalvin Pearson, who blitzed and forced a fumble by starting QB Chad Pennington early in the second quarter, thwarting a potential touchdown drive. Pearson started for the injured Will Allen at free safety. "

Tarvaris debuts on MNF
MINNEAPOLIS -- Former Alabama State quarterback Tarvaris Jackson made his pro football debut in primetime on Monday.
Jackson passed for 60 yards and ran for 36 more in the Vikings' 16-13 loss to Oakland in first Monday Night Football game televised by ESPN.
On his second possession, Jackson, a second-round draft pick, led Minnesota to a field goal. He received a loud ovation when he returned to the bench.
He completed 7 of 13 passes and ran three times.

Tarvaris was fun to watch. His numbers could have been better had he not taken a forearm shiver to the back of the head on a scramble play and had to come out of the game for a handful of plays. Plus he had a dropped pass inside the Raiders five.

Harvard's Ryan Fitzpatrick led the Rams to a TD against the Colts. He was 8-11 for 51 yards in the drive.:hurray: :hurray: He and Dave Ragone are competing for the #3 QB job.

Tarvaris Jackson looked pretty good during the 2nd preseason game for the Vikes and could be #2 on the depth chart. Unlike last game when he wowed people with his feet, his passes were on target and he made a couple of great plays to avoid sacks.

It seems like every time that guy gets in the game, he does great things for em. Why is he competing for the three spot? I mean damn, Bulger himself isn't quite the greatest QB around.

Jason Hatcher impresses; goodbye to Sean Ryan
Rookie defensive end Jason Hatcher led the Cowboys with six tackles and a half sack. Hatcher's a lot further down the road than the club anticipated. With the depth at defensive end, I'm not sure Kenyon Coleman is long for this team.
By the way, I hated to see Sean Ryan shipped off to the Jets. If you're ranking the quality human beings on this team, Ryan's near the top.

Fred Evans from Texas State has been called the most impressive rookie of camp by Coach Saban of the Dolphins. He is currently 2nd on the depth chart at nose tackle. They just interviewed him on ESPNews.
