Well, this isn't good is it? Racial jokes? Porn? Topless women? I'm not surprised people got fired for this. The PR director won't get hired as a PR director anywhere after this and to think he had one of the best PR jobs in the world, as the head man with an NFL team. Times like this make me thankful that we have a good SID at SHSU and have a great media relations crew, the best in the NFL according to the NFL sports writers, with the Houston Texans led by Tony Wylie.

Mayor: Training video 'reprehensible'
Associated Press

SAN FRANCISCO – A video meant to prepare San Francisco 49ers players for dealing with the media features off-color humor – including racial jokes and nudity – and has outraged team ownership and angered the mayor.

The 15-minute film shows team public relations director Kirk Reynolds sitting in San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom's office, impersonating the mayor there and in other city scenes, the San Francisco Chronicle reported Wednesday.

The video, sent anonymously to the paper, also featured racial jokes, lesbian soft-porn and topless women.

Reynolds said he made the in-house video to coach players on handling media questions in diverse San Francisco – and never meant it for public consumption.

I'm still fuzzy as to how a video featuring all those things helps players deal with the media. I know that the 49ers have a pretty crappy team, I didn't know that it goes all throughout the franchise.

I just watched the "offensive video" and I can't believe people lost their jobs over this. Yeah, it's corny and pokes fun at different groups in a rather tasteless way, but no more so than "The Man Show" ever has. I thought it was a very creative way to demonstrate the points the guy was trying to make to the players and it's sad that someone could lose their job just because the PC bandwagon got a little too heavy.

Yeah, for normal people, but we're talking San Francisco here......the Mecca for the "please don't offend me" PC crowd.
