NDSU is a much, much better team right now than SIU. That said, SIU will take advantage of any mistakes the Bison make so protecting the ball is key. If the Bison don't turn the ball over, we win by 28+.

They've faced two good defense so far this year, IMO, between Colorado St and Indiana St and have looked average at best. I think they're due for a well played offensive game against a top flight defense but I'm not sure if this is the day that happens. I think it'll be more of a defensive slugfest similar to last year but not quite that ugly.

Their defense was much, much better last year. This year's Saluki defense is not good at stopping people, they're good at taking the ball away. I still think they're quite good defensively. Better than any defense we've seen this year other than Indiana St. It'll be a test for the Bison offense, and Brock in particular, to prove that they're over the turnover bug. That means Brock has to make better decisions and the receivers have to win more one-on-one matchups than they did against the Sycamores.

Shaky officiating doesn't give it enough justice. I was able to handle all the god-awful calls up until the pass interference in the endzone where Smith had a safety literally jump up and push down on his shoulder pads to be able to swat the pass away... Remove this blatant pass interference and we have a touchdown. What did the back judge who saw the whole thing do? Walk away. If I sucked this hard at my job, I would be canned. *****ing terrible. I was in section 9 and saw it very, very clearly and I was raging afterwards...

Regardless, great performance by our defense... SIU only had 11 yards of rushing and 19 minutes of possession...

West line judge was brutal, needs to learn the definition of what forward progress is. He blew the fumble call, and prematurely called the runner down, short of the goalline twice on the first Bison TD drive. If he wanted to stand out, he sure did a great job of doing so.

They did also set up the opportunity for SIU to score their only offensive touchdown all game... That phantom timeout call AFTER the 4th down was stopped was ridiculous and made me want to throw poo at the refs. However, I held my own and refused to stoop to their level of monkeying around and stopped myself. The score of this game SHOULD have been 30-10.

Oh yes, I forgot about this. Are the refs not allowed to watch the replays on the giant screens above their heads!? You would think that if they saw them, they would say "Oooops, my bad. Fumble!" and reverse the call. It was so obvious.The level of reffing in this game made me feel like I was watching a flag football game at an elementary school level... just plain awful. I'm thankful that the Bison were able to overcome the 12th man known to us as "zebras".

Just a side note: After the missed pass interference call, someone in my section yelled "Get off your knees ref, you're blowing the game!" as loud as they could. A mother sitting in front of him then proceeded to immediately remove her kids from the Fargodome. It was sort of entertaining.

But with no review available this is really the only one that can be challeneged. The head ref should have explained on the mic that they were given the timeout. Probably would have settled alot of people down. And do you mean the concensus on TV or the concensus in the dome. I assume that the issue was much clearer to the TV audience, the officals offered no explination in the dome. It was simply 4th down twice with no penalties invovled.

I for one was livid at the 5th down however another guy in our suite said he saw Dale calling and being granted the timeout as the play occurred so I'll give them that one but the fumble in the first qtr they called down was a bad call. Other than that there were some questionable calls but they happen in every game. Bottom line is I think we got the old substitute refs back from the NFL and it showed. Anyway we won and that's all that matters. SIU has a good D and I expected that. Offensively though they were lacking but then again so were we. Brock IMHO hasn't been the same since the INDY State game. Hope he shakes it off.

I don't have us pegged for #1 in the AGS poll and most knowledgeable Bison fans realize our offense hasn't been firing on all cylinders for some time. If they get that fixed we will win another NC but if we play like we did the last two or three Saturdays we won't be repeating as national champions.

I apologize if you took my comments seriously. Been around the game enough to know you get some calls and you give some calls...for the most part it evens out throughout a season. And yes, your team had everything to do with the final score!
