So if Richmond beats Duke, do they deserve a vote?

Steve Spurrier votes for Duke. There are about 10 teams you could make an argument for at #1, but everyone has question marks. I'd put ND in at 1 - the offense will be the best in the country and the D is a year older and hopefully a year better, with Zbikowski leading as a preseason all american. WR's are going to think twice about crossing over the middle after seeing him knock out that OSU chump at MSG :rotateh:

We'd all be better off without these stupid preseason polls - it's insane how much influence this has on the season and predetermines what bowls schools go to. See Auburn, 2004

Texas at #2 is a bit of a suprise consider they're starting a redshirt frosh at QB. Even though i'm an ND homer i figured it would be Ohio State #1 and Notre Dame #2. Also a lot of these votes must have been done before Oklahoma suspended Bomar. I think in reality you can drop them about 10 places.

Steve Spurrier votes for Duke.
These polls are worthless, but I love how Spurrier stays true to where he gained coaching fame.

On a different subject: If he was a voter, would Mack the Knife give Appy any love in the I-AA polls?
