Both GSU and CCU can make some noise this week. GSU is #17 in the polls and has a legit outside shot at the National Title. Three GSU golfers have won individual medalist honors in collegiate tournaments this season and has one golfer who is one of the three finalists for the Ben Hogan Award as the #1 collegiate golfer in the nation.
Interesting stat: Every DI golf program from the state of Georgia (5), made the finals.

Actually, Pepperdine, Wichita State, North Carolina, and a few others didn't qualify as a team like I originally stated. Those schools do have an individual member playing for individual medialist honors, tho.

I'm really suprised to see the top 2 teams in the nation, UNLV and Oklahoma State, struggle like they are. Little 'ol Augusta State pretty much had it's way with OK State when it won the Central Regional 2 weeks ago. I guess it shows how powerful collegiate golf on the east coast really is.

Thanks for the props. There are only 8 strokes separating 3rd place from where we are at 15th. However, UGA & Georgia Tech are in 1st & 2nd place respectively & they are WAY ahead of the pursuers.
UGA holds a 9 stroke lead over GT, while GT holds an 11 stroke lead over the 3rd place team- Southern Cal. While we made the cut, we are currently 28 strokes out of 1st place. Got a little work to do!

It's over, 1/3 of the 15 teams who made the cut were Georgia teams. UGay wins the national title, GA Teck 2nd, Augusta State 9th, Georgia State and GSU tied for 13th. Suprisingly the #1 team in the nation, OK State, finished 15th.
