Andre McCorkle, who will report to Texas State for preseason drills next week, was on the receiving end of ESPN SportsCenter's No. 4 Play of the Day on Tuesday.

McCorkle caught a short pass from former Humble quarterback Jerrod Johnson and raced 62 yards for a third-quarter touchdown in the South's 30-20 win at the 72nd annual Texas High School Coaches Association All-Star Game held in Austin.

The play was showcased close to the top of the hour every hour through Wednesday morning.

McCorkle averaged 11.6 yards per carry, rushing for 1,978 yards and 23 touchdowns last fall as a senior at Flour Bluff High School in Corpus Christi. He was named the District 31-4A Most Valuable Player as well as tabbed the All-South Texas MVP, All-Metro Offensive MVP and the Bay Area Offensive MVP.

McCorkle was one of two Texas State signees to take part in Tuesday's all-star game. Defensive lineman Travis Houston, who signed with the Bobcats out of Converse Judson High School, also played for the victorious South squad.

Texas State's first-year players as well as returning veterans all report to campus on Sunday. The `Cats will hold their first practice of preseason camp Monday evening.

Still no love from the AA "GODS" for a TXST player receiving some good National press for DI-AA football. Yet others complain about ESPN radio and Sportcenter not getting with the program. xidiotx :nono: :nono: :nono:

Perhaps the thread should read "Future TXST RB out shined BCS DI-A players in Texas High school All Star Game Highlights".
