Who would you vote as the MVP for each league right now?

Personally, I always say that I would never give the MVP do a DH, but Big Papi is making a strong case for me to forget that.

As for the NL, I'm gonna have to go with Beltran

The AL isn't even close, if they voted today if you don't for Big Papi your voting privilege should be revoked.

The NL is closer, Beltran is a good pick, Pujols even though he missed time has the numbers. I don't know if Beltran could win it with so many good gouys on that team, Wright, Reyes, etc. I'll be a homer but Ryan Howard or Chase Utley aren't out of the realm of possibility.

I would just find it hard to vote for a DH. If he played in the field, I just have a feeling that his offensive numbers wouldn't be as good.

David Ortiz, hands down is the MLB MVP. With 58 games remaining he has 105 RBI, 37 HR, and 5 walkoff hits 3 of them walk-off HR's as he did last night. He is truely amazing. He would be in contention to win a triple crown if it were not for the shift that they put on every time he comes to the plate. If not for the shift he would be hitting in the .340 to .350 range this season.

Does anyone in the game win as many games with there glove that Ortiz does with his bat. There is not a player in baseball that wins as many game with there glove and bat combine that Ortiz does with his bat alone.

DH smeeH - Ortiz is flat out the MVP this year and it's not even close. I don't even know who you would put second (Thome, another DH?), but Ortiz is a man among boys out there. He's on pace to be above 150 RBI's with more than 50 HR's and he's within reach of .300 and he still walks a decent amount even with Manny behind him. Playing the field isn't that much of a drain on a player, especially if he was playing 1B. This is still baseball we're talking about. You through in all the clutch performances on a team likely to be in the playoffs and you have a certified MVP right there.

As far as i'm concerned MLB should send the trophy to Boston right now, and they might as well do the same with the Cy Young and ROY.

Granted I think Weaver, Verlander and Liriano are great, but IF Papelbon continues doing what hes been doing, (and for you Weaver, Verlander and Liriano lovers, dont tell me I can't assume he will because I can say the same about Weaver, Verlander and Liriano) he will finish around 45 saves and a MLB record era, even lower then that of Eckersley when he won the CY and MVP.

I'm not sure of the Cy Young and ROY awards - the other guys you mention are all starters and when you have comparable numbers, I'll go with the starters everyday. Papelbon is great, no doubt, but watching Liriano pitch (well, except against the Tigers) is like watching a maestro at work.

Yea they are great as well, but were talking the best season by a relief pitcher EVER!
