Robert Morris broke into the win column and beat previously-undefeated Lafayette thanks to a number of key plays from NEC Defensive Player of the Week Marcelis Branch. The freshman cornerback, who also nabbed the league's weekly rookie honor, forced a fumble, made an interception, and added a huge third-down tackle. Albany watched receiver Kevin Chillis earn the NEC Special Teams Player of the Week award after rolling past NEC rival Monmouth in what began as a battle of two 3-1 teams.
