I was checking atlantic10.org (http://www.atlantic10.org) out to see if the preseason rankings had come in, and on the front page stumbled upon this poll on the right side:
"Which of the 2006 A-10 sports are you most looking foward to?"
-Cross Country
-Field Hockey
-Men's Soccer
-Women's Soccer
-Volleyball
Notice what sport wasn't mentioned? Ridiculous. Thank God the CAA is taking over. I mean, you'd think that A-10 football might get a mention over volleyball for goodness sake.

While checking for football news on atlantic10.org/ (http://www.atlantic10.org/), I discovered that Duquesne has just taken on a new logo.

I like it but is it really that much better than the traditionally scripted D it was using before?

:eyebrow: Sorry if I thought this was somewhat relevant to A-10 football and why it is headed to the CAA.

funny that Duquesne never sent any updated logo to football media... guess it's not a priority.

Lets see... the A10 already knows everyone is leaving for the CAA in football. Why would they want to waste any more money and energy in something that they will have no part in come this time next year?

Basketball isn't mentioned either. That makes me think the purpose of the poll is to gauge the popularity of each of the listed sports relative to the others.

Thank God the CAA is taking over the A-10. If it were not, then ODU wouldn't have passed the football vote for 2009, even though I don't see us with a full CAA membership until 2011 or 2012 at best.

Of the 14 full A-10 members, only 7 of them play football, and only 3 of those (UMass, URI and Richmond) do so in the A-10. Dayton is Pioneer, Duquesne is MAAC, Fordham is Patriot and Temple is now MAC. Why would half the conference be excited for a sport that they don't have? And then, why would half of the remaining schools be excited for a conference they don't participate in?
