Montana at 11? Cmon man.

What I don't get is The Citadel and their comparison to Montana. Both teams played @ App St. One team lost by 8, the other crushed App. One team has beaten Georgia Southern, the other has beaten Liberty. How do you justify putting Montana ahead of the Citadel?

Bc like most they simply slot vote and Montana's name got them a lofty ranking that slid 4 spots back with a loss and 2-3 forward with a win xsmhx

Lafayette and Albany are both too low.

And, is Lehigh really the 13th best team in the country? Wowza. I think even many of their own fans would agree they are closer to #20 than #10.

Absolutely. No one with an ounce of sense can have Montana ahead of The Citadel. They played the same team on the same field. Montana lost, The Citadel rolled.

It would be acceptable if this were much later in the season and the Citadel had other blemishes on their record, but they're undefeated.

If your teams from montana you obviously get an additional 10-15 spots in polls.

Typical Eastern bias to this poll...AGS is much better

Western teams too low

UND, Cal Poly, Sacramento St, NAU

Eastern Teams too High

ODU, Lehigh, Main, Stony Brook (these teams may end up being good enough to support their ranking but as of now I don't see how they are ranked this high with their current resume)

UND unranked I understand but Cal Poly. I don't get coaches (or whoever) that vote in this poll. Cal Poly deserves to be a top 15 team IMO.

Not sure about #20, but we certainly have not shown greatness so far. But there seems to be enough talent to be #13, if they put it all together. Still a work in progress.

Harvard? Did anyone follow the Harvard vs San Diego game??? USD dominated until they petered out in the fourth. Block of Ivy coaches picking their best team and ensuring a spot in the polls? Coaches poll is always the worst.

Anyone ranking Lehigh should also have Princeton ranked, seeing as the Tigers stayed within a home-field-advantage of the Hawks at their place.

We'll find out soon enough. I think we may be playing to our competition.

To be fair, who has really shown greatness so far? I'd say it's a small list: NDSU, YSU, The Citadel, ODU, ISUr. I don't have these as my top five teams, I'll admit (though a majority are), but I think you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who really thinks any of these teams are rated too high (except maybe a point or two).

There are also a small list of teams that have taken care of business with very solid starts: Delaware, Wofford, McNeese and Cal Poly. Their schedules aren't as good, I'd argue, but they've all taken care of business so far.

Beyond that, it's all a question of how you evaluate losses, sloppy wins, road wins, adversity, etc. How do you compare an FCS school with a win over a bad FBS team vs. a team with a very competitive win vs. a good FBS team (e.g., EWU vs. Cal Poly, for example)? There's too few games, and I don't get too upset with how anyone's perceiving reality, as we just don't have enough information.

Although, historically, anyone slot-voting or going purely on past-season performances really shouldn't be a voter.
