Former Samford defensive back Corey White made his NFL regular-season debut, starting in the secondary for the New Orleans Saints in their season-opener against the Washington Redskins Sunday afternoon. Another former Samford player, Cortland Finnegan, had a strong showing in his first game with his new team, the St. Louis Rams, in their season-opener against the Detroit Lions.
