Actually, a report on ESPN last night said that Selig and the Giants will try to talk Bonds into taking a leave of absence. If Bonds doesn't cooperate, then the report said selig will likely suspend him, using the commissioner's best interests powers. Supposedly, Selig has been struggling with the need to make a statement and suspend Bonds and the desire to protect the innocent until proven guilty rights of Bonds. But the evidence is apparantly so overwhelming here that Selig is almost compelled to do something.

Doesn't matter. It didn't happen.

SAN FRANCISCO -- Barry Bonds will not be indicted immediately, federal prosecutors said Thursday, but the ongoing grand-jury investigation of steroids and possible perjury and tax-evasion charges against the San Francisco Giants star will continue.

Indictment didn't happen today but the grand jury is going to revisit the issue. Just needed more time apparently.
