Interesting to see the different polls or ratings!

I certaily like this poll but I am not certain how accurate it will be. Somehow #19 is a bit high for us to be ranked right now. I'll take it but I am leery of it.

I would be extremely surprised if the top 25 teams aren't within that top 40 list of Don's :twocents: My disagree that that's where those teams will end up poll-wise, but little doubt that they'll probably be in the mix of top 25.

#7 sounds reasonable for JMU; however, I am surprised that Northern Iowa is below the Dukes even if by just one spot. A surprise to me is Youngstown State at #3. That will certainly make FlyYTown happy; however, I am sure Cap'n Cat would not place the Penguins that high in a poll.

LOL at that old fogey Cap'n Cat.

Tough to argue with his Top 9. I like Hampton but think there are better teams than them. YSU ?? Right about where someone with knowledge would place them. Probable Gateway Champs.

Can't keep screwing them forever !! Even the NCAA committee. xlolx

:lmao:

With you campaigning for that and with FlyYTown campaigning for a move to the I-A MAC, Youngstown State will not be classified as I-AA anymore in a few years! ;)

It was a surprise to me because I think the top three I-AA teams in the nation heading into 2006 are Montana, Appalachian State, and New Hampshire. :twocents:

YSU ?? Anywhere in the Top 5. Thats smart. They were easily in the Top 16 last year and Tri-Champs in the Gateway. Of course, the "fabulous " selection committee kept out one of the premier D teams in the nation last year who would have done serious damage to the play-offs.

With everyone returning, a ton of lettermen, several players the best in the Gateway and a load of I-A transfers added ,

maybe we should just drop them below that power house-- the PL !! xlolx

Can't be...if that were the case, McNeese DEFINITELY would not be 12th.

Ill. State
YSU

It could happen!

YSU was picked for 6th in the GFC last year and won a piece of the Championship. No one had a clue last year. Obvious no one has a clue again this year. xlolx xlolx xlolx

Does anyone besides me think it's crazy that one person's opinion is labeled a POLL????????

Hansen is just offering his own opionion and he pretends that someone other than himself has voted on this. Talk about misleading.

Any "poll" that puts Jacksonville State below Delaware State simply demonstrates that the One voter has seen neither team. xlolx

For the record I like William and Mary over Hampton at least 7 times out of ten. Obviously, Hansen does not actually pay attention to playoff results. He justs looks up his last year's rankings and makes a few adjustments.

Don Hansen is a Mid - West guy who does not actually see I-AA games outside of the Mid - West. He totally buys into the Mid - West bias and he is totally clueless outside of the Gateway or OVC. xidiotx :bang:

I'm gonna be a homer too when I say, "What a joke!" to have EKU outside the top 25...though I suppose with us blowing the OVC last year we should have to at least earn that on the field.

One might say he is clueless to the GFC.....UNI third???? He must not have watched last year....

Don (now semi-retired) does have a staff that attends/watches games. I think this was a poll from his staff. He had a guy at the last two I-AA champ games in the pressbox. I talk with Don at least a couple times a year, he knows a bunch.

blukeys, you might want to really look over that poll again. Out of the 40 teams there are 9 from the midwest. in my book, that is no bias. :nono:

It is no secret that FGazette knows midwest best from what it covers.
