GRAMBLING, La. -- She sits inside an office so small the door can't open without hitting the desk. Stacks of paper surround Natasha Hatcher, who, if she leans back far enough, could touch the back wall.

Hatcher doesn't have to be in this office. Her friends and relatives keep telling her she's a millionaire.

Married to the Cowboys' third-round draft pick, it's time to hurry up and do nothing. Time to buy things.

"Is your house one million dollars?" a friend asks.

But the wife of Cowboys defensive end Jason Hatcher knows better. She always has. Hatcher's signing bonus is expected to be at least $470,000. Nothing else is guaranteed.

It is good to see good things happen to good people.....

Cowboys Agree To Terms With Draft Pick
Hatcher, the 92nd overall pick, will sign a four-year deal worth about $2.22 million, including a signing bonus of about $600,000.

The rookie defensive end from Grambling is expected to make an immediate impact, possibly as a nickel pass-rusher. He had 11 sacks last year as a senior, but the Cowboys are also hoping he can provide some depth as a 3-4 defensive end.

Hatcher signs on

The Cowboys signed Jason Hatcher to a four-year contract. The 6-foot-6, 295-pound defensive end from Grambling State will receive a base salary of $275,000 this season, $360,000 in '07, $445,000 in '08 and $530,000 in '09.

Being a life long Cowboy fan and a fan of I-AA football, I am glad to see that Dallas drafted and signed Hatcher. From all that I have read, it looks like the Cowboys are excited about Hatcher and feel they got a steal picking him up with the 92nd pick. I will definately follow his career and wish him the best.

Mach, so true! Really a nice young man... Just a well mannered country boy who is a helluva football player. Real intelligent young man who just likes being around people.
