Nick Campanella ran for 129 yards and three scores on 12 carries while Georgetown's defense stifled Davidson's offense in a 35-14 win Saturday in the teams' season opener. Georgetown's defense forced seven first-half punts and held Davidson to minus-18 rushing yards for the game. Reigning Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year Robert McCabe led the charge with 12.5 tackles, while Alec May finished with three of the Hoyas' eight sacks. Davidson opened the scoring on an 18-yard touchdown pass from Jonathan Carkuff to Lanny Funsten, but the Hoyas came back with scoring drives of 75 and 91 yards. The latter was a nine-play drive that ended in a 53-yard scoring run by Campanella. Quarterback Aaron Aiken ran 21 times for 113 yards, and passed for a pair of touchdowns.
