... what's up with moves by the AD? :eyebrow: Releasing Mike Parris as the "Voice of the Gamecocks?" What kind of xidiotx move is that?

FireJimFuller.com (http://www.firejimfuller.com/)

And to replace Parris with a UAB-wannabee is really insulting to the Gamecock faithful :bang: :bang: :bang:

I've spoken to alot of JSU alumni, that are not involved in either the
J-Club or the Gamecock Club, and they are bloody pissed. Supposedly, this move was made to allow Parris to concentrate solely on his marketing of the athletic department. Why Matt Coulter was hired is something I will never understand. UAB fired him as a color commentator, so why in the hell would we want him as the lead guy. I've heard some other reasons given for the dismissal of Parris as the "Voice", but I will not go into them right now.

"Am I disappointed? Yes,” said Parris, known as the “Voice of the Gamecocks.” “Am I hurt? Yes. Anybody would be if they had done this for as long as I have. But I've got my other duties so I have my work cut out for me there.” ...
Parris has called four JSU national championship victories - football (1992), basketball (1985) and baseball (1990, 1991)...
“People have been very complimentary about the job I did,” Parris said. “But I'm not stupid or naïve enough to think that there aren't twice as many people who don't like me. But life is full of changes, and this is one of them.”

No wonder he's so grouchy (fired the wbb coach, suspended the golf coach, won't give the baseball coach a contract, took the 23-year veteran broadcaster out of the booth) ... If I was making a 2-hour commute every day I'd probably act that way at work too. :D

Tell Fuller if there's a Dreamland built in Anniston, Oxford or Jacksonville would he consider moving??? A 2.5-hour commute ONE WAY (and that's dealing with B'ham traffic) to work is not a smart move :nono:

Who needs Dreamland? We've got Cooter Brown's.

And I know Fuller eats there ... he sat behind me on my last trip to the shack.
