Wish they would quit picking on Barry Bonds. Marion Jones is still out there making millions on the track and field circuit.

Barry Bonds' legal team is preparing for the San Francisco slugger to be indicted as soon as next week and has begun plotting his defense.

Attorney Laura Enos told The Associated Press on Friday that Bonds, second on the career home run list, could be charged with tax evasion and perjury.

The excuse, "it [steroids] wern't against MLB rules" should be irrelevent. Steroids are against the LAW and MLB rules do not supercede the laws.

Steroids have been on baseballs banned substance list since around 1990.

Then why do people keep saying that MLB didn't have a rule against it? Or are they just stating that it wasn't enforced?

It wasn't enforced. Faye Vincent probably would have done something.

yes, but they have admitted to their use. Bonds keeps saying "I didn't know."

If he would have confessed at the beginning he would be much better off.

I predict that Barry will conveniently go on the disabled list very soon.

And Bonds is still making millions? Your point, Gil?

And if he goes to jail, it will be for tax evasion, not steriods.

Anything that keeps him from closing in on the most hallowed record in baseball. I hope his knee finally gives out and ends his career and he gets convicted. I cannot stand him, just as I don't like the other obvious users - i.e. anyone who has hit over 60 home runs recently...

MLB is the cause of this.
I'm not a Bonds fan, but they brought baseball out of the pits(maguire, sosa, giambi,Bonds, etc). MLB didn't enforce the rules.
I do think if Barry would have said "ok, you got me" this would be over.
Barry doesn't help himself by being a jerk.
MLB is playing c.y.a. and acts surprised that this was happening.
It stains the whole game, not just Barry.
