WIU - it's a Pioneer team. Might as well be playing a Northern Sun team.
SIU - should be a great game. Hopefully these are future MVFC conference rivals in the future
IL St - it's a Pioneer team. Might as well be playing a Northern Sun team.
Montana - USD will put up a good fight, has a chance to win
Wisconsin - UNI will put up a good fight, has a chance to win
Pittsburgh - should be a great game
SDSU - upset pick
NDSU - should be a blowout in the first half, second half boring
K-St - score will be closer by the end than at the end of first half
Indiana - should be a great game

Why are people picking Kansas?

NDSU beat them with only an above average I-AA team in 2010. And they were supposed to have some weapons in Gill's first season that I recall. SDSU has also played pretty competitive games against Big XII and Big Ten teams.

If the Jacks haven't improved their defense then this game could get ugly.....period. If they had their '09 defense then I would say they would have a very good chance in this game.

Hope they win.

New Coach Charlie Weis brought his Notre Dame transfers with him. Kansas won't be great, Jacks could win, but less likely than with Gill. KU's top back is out until Week 4.

Is Crist the starter? I have no idea. Know nothing about the other two Notre Dame transfers. Looks like there's been some other transfers as well.

I guess coach was looking for an immediate talent upgrade in Lawrence. That usually doesn't bode well for the first year.

Last I heard Crist was at the top of the depth chart. Notre Dame TE is starting, Notre Dame Linebacker is starting and the Nebraska DE transfer is starting, or at least they are at the top of the depth chart.

Butler @ Western Illinois - WIU has a sneaky good tailback, he'll run wild in this matchup
Southern Illinois @ Eastern Illinois - SIU gets off on the right foot with a convincing win
Dayton @ Illinois St - I'm not sold on the Redbird offense yet but their D is lights out and keeps Dayton down all day
South Dakota @ Montana - Joe Glenn is welcomed back warmly by the Griz fans, but rudely by the Griz players
Northern Iowa @ Wisconsin - Wisconsin wins in a romp but it will be interesting to see how the Panther's RS frosh QB fares
Youngstown St @ Pittsburgh - YSU shows their offesive potential right out of the gate and wins a shoot out
South Dakota @ Kansas - the Jacks look like a trendy upset pick here but I think KU wins a tight one
Robert Morris @ North Dakota St - I think the Bison offense comes out a bit slow but they turn it on and bulldoze RMU after the half
Missouri St @ Kansas St - we'll find out early whether or not Terry Allen has control of his team, I think they put up a fight for a half but are too outmatched to keep it close
Indiana St @ Indiana - I'm not sold on the Sycs passing game, I think IU keys on Bell and makes the Sycs beat them through the air which they'll be unable to do

Just call them all Division 1. Treat the schools (FBS) who not want to participate in the the playoffs the same way we treat the Ivies now.
The main difference is money. It never seems to change.

You mean, who do not want to participate in the NCAA's division I playoff.

The big time schools, whose post season has always and will always supersede the NCAA, will have their own playoff starting 2014.

Shoot, when did that happen?

Freak Deal. No Pads, Half Speed, Sumner went back back to hand-off and Zenner went the wrong way and they collided. Dislocated Sumners thumb and not the left thumb(non-throwing) either. Is "very" questionable for the KU game and possibly the SELA game.

Backup RS Freshman Eric Klein(Blaine HS, MN) looked good in the scrimmage (11-13 passing), so we'll see what happens Saturday night in Lawrence. Looking fwd to the trip myself!

Go Jacks!!

Go Jacks!!

That's too bad!

But, I hope Kline does well. Was quite a player in the Cities metro area it appears and for a powerhouse, large school program. Would've liked to see him up at NDSU.

It's smart to sit him against Kansas if he's not 100%. Sure, it's nice for a program to beat an FBS school but in the scheme of things it doesn't mean much to the overall season if you lose that game.

NDSU found that out the hard way when our All-American RB Tyler Roehl re-injured an ankle against Wyoming in 2008 in a game that didn't mean much and subsequently missed the conference opener against Youngstown, which was a much more crippling loss than Wyoming.

Pretty standard this week. Should be too many suprises. I dont consider ISU-b winning a suprise.

After one week I'm 7-3.

YSU shocked me, I thought they'd play well but not that well! UNI also played quite well against Wisc. Didn't check out IN St or SDSU in more detail, but was hoping for closer games from both (and win from SDSU). SIU losing to EIU is disappointing, but hope this is a MVFC league game in the future!

Picked the wrong FBS win. Not surprised with UNI's showing, they always play the run tough, plus Wisconsin had 14 new starters this year.

I'd be curious to know what changed in the game. Wisconsin had the game well in hand and then all of a sudden the last highlight is UNI with the ball and can win the game with a TD, but they turn it over on downs to end the game.

Did Wisco play all backups and let UNI catchup?

From reading Wisconsin news articles Ball was off due to missing a week of camp after being assaulted and Taylor on defense was off a week due to off-season surgery and a bad hammy. Still UNI found the weakness and almost beat the stinkin Badgers.

9-1 xawesomex Would have been 10-0 but the last 5 times I picked YSU in a big game they lost xbawlingx I picked NDSU last year to "W" and we know how that turned out xthumbsupx
