Richmond is always working hard to ensure they are playing the most appropriate FBS oppenents, and schedule them pretty far in advance. Here is the schedule so far.

2012 Virginia
2013 North Carolina State
2014 Virginia
2015 Maryland
2016 Virginia
2017 Boston College
2018 Virginia
2019 To Be Announced
2020 To Be Announced
2021 Virginia Tech

Looks like Duke has realized they cannot beat the Spiders and are no longer willing to schedule Richmond.

2011 - Richmond 23 - Duke 21
2009 - Richmond 23 - Duke 16
2006 - Richmond 16 - Duke 0

The series with Georgia Southern, Richmond and Furman (both games each) have been dropped. Our 2015 return game with Western Carolina has been moved to a future year TBD. Much like this year there is going to be other FBS games added in somewhere...any year that allows 12 games will have a second FBS game for sure, from the sounds of it.

Plenty of options for UNI as well. When Savanah State backed out of their game against UNI and UNI was weighing options of a third FBS game or just a D2 Boise State called daily asking if we had decided yet, along with multiple calls from BYU, NIU (possible home and home), Ohio, Kansas State, and a couple other schools.

You also added a D3 team. Dropping the good FCS programs while keeping WCU along with Division 2 and 3 opponents shows fear of losing. I can't really blame Miss Charlotte for it because losing to FCS teams would put a real damper on their FBS coming out party. It is still seriously weak sauce though.

The smack is weak in this one.

We dropped those series because we had to get rid of games we had already scheduled in 2015 to schedule FBS opponents. You have to have 5 FBS home games, its an NCAA rule. Wesley College had open dates to replace the ones we lost in 2013 and 14. We also dropped N. Greenville (DII) so we could accommodate ODU's request to move both our games in 2013 and 14. We couldn't drop Presby because that's a return game for a 2013 game. Its a bit too late to drop games for next season. Presby will be the only non-FBS game on our 2015 schedule when this is all done.

So we weren't afraid to play Furman and Georgia So. when we were staying FCS, but with the FBS level talent we'll have on the field in 2014 we're now afraid to play them.....................cool story bros!

I have no doubt Furman would have loved to have a home game with no return needed, but that was not in the cards and we sure as hell weren't paying you to play in Charlotte the year after we played you at your place, FBS or no FBS.

Losing to a peer FCS institution early in the program's life wouldn't have been that bad. Losing to an FCS school while trying to convince people that you really deserve to be in the FBS would have been catastrophic. The risk/reward was too great for Madame Charlotte to leave good FCS teams on the schedule.

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Wesley College, an NCAA Division III team from Delaware, rolled up 334 yards rushing in a 33-20 win over Charleston Southern on Saturday.

Askia Jahad led the ground attack with 151 yards and two touchdowns for Wesley. Steven Koudossou started things off for the Wolverines with a 77-yard run for a touchdown with 9:39 to go in the first quarter. Jahad scored less than eight minutes later on an 18-yard run for a 13-0 lead.

Wesley built its biggest lead at 32-13 on a 14-yard-pass from Shane McSweeney to Sean McAndrew with 5:06 to play in the game. The Wolverines, 2/3 against Football Championship Subdivision teams, have lost only nine games since 2005.

The loss drops Charleston Southern to 0-5, its worst start since 1994 when it went 0-11.

Malcolm Dixon passed for 178 yards, and rushed for 71 yards and a touchdown, for the Buccaneers.

Bucknell last played an FBS team in 2001-Kent State. I think the MAC schools are potential foes for the entire conference. Bucknell's current conference relationship would likely be the source of games with Army and Navy. What I would expect, like this season's game at Delaware, is the Bison joining Colgate and Lafayette in doing occasional FCS money games, both for revenue and program reasons. Temple was an old rival, but the last game in that series was in 1970. Rutgers was more recent (1979) and likely could have happened with the previous coaching regime. The closest FBS ride and ancient rival, Penn State, won't happen, although a basketball 2-for-1 series begins this season.

With UNCC heading so quickly to FBS level, I think UR will be playing two FBS teams in 2016 and 2017.
2016 @UVA and @UNCC
2017 @BC and hosting UNCC.

We will see if UNCC decides to buy their way out of playing @Richmond.

NDSU has Kansas St. next year, then Iowa St. and Iowa the following two years.
Looking forward to those games, think Minnesota will schedule them again anytime soon?

UND to play Utah in 2017 $450,000

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The gap will be just over 75 years, but the University of North Dakota football team will play its second game against a member of the Pac-12 Conference when the Green and White travel to Salt Lake City in 2017 to take on the University of Utah in the season-opener for both schools.

UND athletics director Brian Faison announced the one-game deal on Tuesday that will pit the program against a Pac-12 foe for the first time since UND and Oregon played to a 0-0 tie in 1931. The game will be played on Thursday, Aug. 31 at Rice-Eccles Stadium.

UND will play:

San Jose State 2014
Wyoming 2015
Bowling Green 2016
Utah 2017

How much could it possibly cost? It's an 8,000 seat stadium.

Also, I would guess any upcoming games with Maryland would now be doubtful given the stance of the Big 10.

W&M:

2013 - WVU
2014 - VT
2015 - UVA

I believe we also have booked UVA again in 2017 and ODU for 2019.

Quite sure we will have FBS games in 2016 and 2018, just have not heard the opponent. Based on past history, would bet UNC as most likely or NC State.

Boston College dropped our game this year so we play

2013- Buffalo 9/14
2014- Cincinnati
2015-TBA
2016- UConn
2017- USF
Interesting to see how many of those games take place. Considering the new wave of FBS programs not playing FCS schools we shall see. All of them except Buffalo are the old Big East .

I have a gut feel we can also. That would be decent win for us. Two years ago we got smacked 35-7 by the Bulls. Our QB played 3 quarters with a torn Achilles that day no mobility and couldn't pass.

UND is to announce another FBS opponent most likely for 2018 as UND just signed Utah for 2017. I am hoping for Nebraska or Minnesota but if the B1G won't schedule us, maybe a MW or a MAC team.

ACU is in their "don't count for nothing" year this year? Or did ACU suffer thru that last year? Either way ACU shouldn't be a counter for NMSU this season. The Aggies are a hurtin' for certain, and especially if ACU takes 'em down.

This is the non-counter year for ACU, which made it tough to put together a schedule. It didn't help recruiting either.

I don't think NM State is too concerned about whether the game counts as a bowl qualifier. The Aggies aren't going to a bowl. They will be happy with a couple of wins.
