JOLIET, Ill. -- Danica Patrick's father is exploring the possibility of the popular Indy Racing League driver moving to NASCAR as soon as next year, the Orlando Sentinel reported Monday.


The Sentinel reported that T.J. Patrick, who has managed Danica Patrick's career since childhood, was in exploratory talks with some NASCAR teams at Chicagoland Speedway on Sunday.


"I'm trying to get her here [into NASCAR]," T.J. Patrick told the Sentinel.

She's a terrible driver. A guy with her cred wouldn't even be in that seat. I don't even think she is that hot.

I wouldn't call her a terrible driver either - she is above average in the IRL, not a world beater by any means, but far from terrible.

A terrible driver? Hasn't she finished every race so far this year? 2 top 10 finishes at Indy? I don't think a terrible driver could even complete 20 laps at Indy.

It would bring more exposure to her, the team and owner, and NASCAR itself.
I think she should drive Busch for at least a season to get used to the different driving styles.

I wouldn't say terrible, out of 8 races this year she has been in the Top 10 4 times and she is 12 in points not to bad if you ask me, remember this is only her second year in IRL. If she does come to NASCAR next year she should race in Busch Series full time to get some experience and maybe run a few Cup races.
