As a Diamondback fan, yes, I can appreciate it!

The Dbacks were the first ones to puncture the Yankees in their run - and the first to knock Rivera down - he has not been the same since!

reminds me of Curt Schilling's quote during the 2001 World Series

“Aura and Mystique are just dancers in a strip club.”

Not much of a baseball fan, are you UNH? There was a baseball season in 2000...pretty momentous World Series that year too. Guess who won...

Right you are, Bulldog, and what makes it even more galling is that the Yankees beat my beloved NY Mets. :bawling:

I'm a Mets fan also. I can still see Tod Zeile's ball hitting off the top of the fence and Timo Perez getting thrown out at the plate in the first game of the 2000 series. Of course, with a decent closer they could have won that game anyway and MAYBE changed the series. Who knows. Nice win today anyway. Whether they have a good team or a bad team the Mets always seem to hit Randy Johnson.

Taking it to the Mets tonight.

Taking it to the Mets tonight.

I'm a Mets fan and I think they have a good team. But to go far in the playoffs they are going to have to find some pitching. Pedro and Glavine are OK, but look at their ages. Will they be the same in Sept. and Oct. Trachsel is decent, but certainly not a lock and the guy going tonight is young and inconsistent.

Then again, no one in the National League is a powerhouse.

The Mets will make the World Series. As a Yankee fan, I want a Subway series, but its not going to happen. The Whitesox will be back and playing the Mets.

The Tigers are the wildcard with Leyland at the helm, and a wealth of young starters in the pitching rotation.

Considering I'm a Braves fan, I hate both the Yankees and the Mets. Well, the Yankees more, of course. Looks like the Braves spectacular run will end, barring a 1993-style run to close out the season. Oh well, they'll bounce back in '07 with the talented youth on the team. Fortunately, I've had the World Cup to distract me from the Braves' egregious June.

Yes! I so remember that 2001 series. I despise the Yankees and I'm a Phillies fan.
