Patrick Roy headlines the Hockey Hall of Fame's Class of 2006 announced on Wednesday. Roy won four Stanley Cups and three Vezina Trophies as a member of the Canadiens and Avalanche. Since the Vezina Trophy was first awarded to the best goaltender in 1982, who is the only netminder to win that award more times than Roy?

Dominik Hasek won six Vezina Trophies (1994, '95, '97, '98, '99, 2001) with the Sabres.

I'd still take Roy over Hasek. I think Roy was more tough minded than Hasek. I can remember numerous times guys getting to Hasek's head.

It was a trick question. In 1982 the trophy went from being awarded to goaltender for team allowing fewest goals to goalie voted best goaltender. The Vezina has been awarded since 1927. Parent won one in 1975. Jacques Plante has the record with 7 Vezina's.
