It's Bobby Cremins all over again.

Let's think about this for a second. Double your salary and live in Charleston or stay in Rock Hill? I'm voting Charleston. Evidently, Greg is not.

Just for fun Winthrop and CoC should play each other this coming season.

From reading the boards looks like the Cougars are taking it pretty well. I guess they understand since Kresse did the same thing to Davidson during his coaching tenure at CofC.

I'm voting Rock Hill, not much of a Charleston fan.

I hope you were talking about the team. Because you would be the only person I've ever heard that doesn't like the city.

No, but it can't be any more boring than Charleston.

Wow:eek: Cocky, I work in Fort Mill right up the street from Rock Hill and let me tell you, it is rreeeeallllll boring. They sarcasticly call it Rock Thrill for the reason that there is nothing in that town, except for Winthrop. The only good thing about Rock Hill, is that it is close to Charlotte.

I understand, You didn't like Charleston because there was no white water to kayak and nothing you could legally shoot:smiley_wi

That's true. I like the active/outdoor type places.

I'm not into tourist type places and old buildings look the same to me.

Cremins was leaving GA Tech for South Carolina: ACC to SEC. That might have been a step down. CofC was clearly a step up (SoCon) from the Big South.

Not the smartest move for Marshall. If he has coaching aspirations to move to a higher level, CofC would have been a good first step past Winthrop. Now, ADs will hesitate in contacting Marshall even more when they have openings.

I'm another one. I lived there for 4 years back in the mid 80's and enjoyed it; but, now it is a great place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there. Real estate is expensive and traffic is horrible. If you give me enough money to live SOB I might consider it, but, living anywhere else in Charleston is out of the question. As I've gotten older, I like the hustle and bustle a lot less than I diod when I was younger.

Of course, I wouldn't want to live in South Charlotte either.

Back to the subject at hand. Rumors are that Buzz Peterson might be in the hunt for the CoC gig. I wish Buzz would return to App. I also heard this morning the Bobby Cremins might be interested too. Doesn't he live in Hilton Head? Funny that both are former App coaches.

I find it mildly amusing that people are so interested in Buzz...considering the fact that, if Buzz leaves CCU, he'll most likely do the same to whatever school he goes to when a shiny new job offer comes up there. I think Buzz will be at CCU for at least this next year. But, IF he does happen to leave CCU this summer...then good luck next summer when he does the same to whatever school hires him.

this piece comes form the Charleston paper this morning. The writer tells me its satire poking fun at Rock Hill and Charleston

http://www.charleston.net/stories/?newsID=95728&section=localnews

"ROCK HILL - It's no wonder Gregg Marshall couldn't leave this place for Charleston.

After all, this paradise of the Piedmont is virtually awash in history, culture and interesting attractions - even if most of those things are technically in North Carolina.

Who needs College of Charleston basketball, The Battery or the beach when you have regular access to exciting Catawba Indian bingo and, just 10 short miles outside of town, a county history museum filled with the stuffed carcasses of dozens of animals killed by a Nixon administration official?

Rock Hill, a suburb of Charlotte, is a proud town that warrants no less than six exits off of Interstate 77. In its own honor, the city in the 1990s commissioned four statues called "Civitas" along four corners on Dave Lyle Boulevard to represent various attributes of the town. Civitas, which may be Greek for "Our Golden Lady on the Corner," exalts

Rock Hill's lofty goals of being a "functional city."
