Winthrop's Greg Marshall!

From http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=2502504:

COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Winthrop coach Gregg Marshall will be the new coach at the College of Charleston.

Marshall confirmed Tuesday he will take the job, replacing Tom Herrion, who was let go earlier this month.

It will be a homecoming for Marshall, who was an assistant at Charleston for eight years under John Kresse, who built the program almost from scratch.
...
College of Charleston officials would not confirm Marshall's hiring, but said a news conference was scheduled for Wednesday afternoon to discuss the basketball program.

Of course, ESPN reported earlier in CofC's search that current CCU coach Buzz Peterson WOULD be hired...but that doesn't look like the case now, LoL.

Yeah, I know, CofC just hasn't announced it yet...that's the only reason I said "Unconfirmed," since (like I said) ESPN had Buzz definitely getting the job a few weeks ago.

The irony.....

Peterson got the Tennessee job over Marshall five years ago.

I hope that I have a town to go home to tonight. With Marshall leaving, I don't know if Rock Hill can survive. I, on the other hand, think it is hilarious, because I met Marshall and he is a real pain in the rear.
