215–63–5 Home record
Regular season attendance has averaged just shy of 30,000 for the past few years, leading the FCS in attendance. With such high numbers and a raucous crowd, "The Rock" is one of the most difficult venue's for visiting teams in D-1 football.

If you're talking about UTC's (or should I say the city of Chattanooga's) Finley stadium, I don't believe we've lost a game there, including NC's in a few decades. If you're referring to NC State's Carter-Finley stadium I believe we're something like 3-7 all time.

Oh yes the flag stealing story. Your interpretation, saying I got "beat up" when in that paragraph I explicitly described how I chased the guy, javelenned him in the back with the other half of the flag pole, tackled him, recovered the flag and watched him limp away holding his back while I stood there unscathed was one of the first AGS tastes of just how delusional you really were. Just as you twist every UTC loss to App State in to some "moral" victory where the clearly superior team lost, you twisted my story about the classlessness of a UTC fan met with the poetic justice of a PVC pipe to the spine into some sort of colossal defeat I suffered at the hands of some righteous brute from the glorious UTC fan section.
Thanks for the golden memory. You just keep being you xthumbsupx

I believe Finley stadium opened in the late 90s, so off the top of my head, we've lost I believe twice there (2000 and the shootout in 2004). So I think we're somewhere around 8-2 in Finley including National Championships. As for Carter-Finley, we're 0-5.

Let me refresh you on your original story. Despite the fact that you assaulted the "frat boy" with your flag stick, he still ended up on top of you and your buddies had to pull him off. This was your original story as you cried over the horrors of your worst experience at another stadium.

Regardless of how we landed after I tackled him, my friends grabbed me to get the hell out of there before I got arrested. (this happened in front of 100+ people)
Again, I struggle how someone could "get beaten up" when they were not punched, nor kicked, nor harmed in any way. Not even so much as a swing from the tackle-ee.

Holy Cross has played at Fitton Field since 1903, though football was played on the baseball field (adjacent to the current football field)until 1908. These records include all games from 1903.
367-169-2
Several teams are undefeated at Fitton Field, but for opponents that have played there more than 5 times ...
... Yale 7-0 at Fitton field has the best record by win pct.
other notables at Fitton Field...
... Syracuse 11-3
... Boston College 10-10-2
... Lehigh 8-5-1 is the only Patriot League opponent with a winning record at Fitton
... Colgate 16-26-2 has more wins at Fitton than any other opponent.

Alpha's memory of the last decade is apparently a little fuzzy. The Cats are 2-11 at Wa-Griz since it opened, which is atrocious but nearly 3x the win percentage Alpha would have you believe. However 8 of those occurred during "the streak" from 1986 to 2001. During that period MSU's overall record was 64-112, so they weren't doing much winning anywhere. Since 2002, the Cats are 2-3 in Missoula, which still isn't great but more respectable than when including years where MSU's program was struggling and the Griz were becoming a perenial playoff team.

Adjusting the totals to include last season, the Cowboys are 182-84-5 in Cowboy Stadium. The opponent who has done the best against us is Louisiana Tech. Subtracting the results for the games before Cowboy Stadium was built in 1965, we are 11-13 against La. Tech in Cowboy stadium.

Do any Bison fans know our record at the Fargodome?? I'm surprised none of you chimed into this thread yet.
And I'm sure it's more yummy Darell bait, but I'm pretty sure UND has the best record against the Bison in the Dome. Of course we haven't played them at all in 9 years (10 years since at home), and that kind of accomplishment becomes diluted over time. Especially when one considers the circumstances each program was under at that time. I'm sure that if now NDSU played UND home-home every single year that we'd win a good majority of the games in Fargo.

I'm sure that if now NDSU played UND home-home every single year that we'd win a good majority of the games in Fargo.
NDSU is 99-22 (.818 winning %) at the Fargodome by my calculations (page 7 of the 2011 media guide (https://admin.xosn.com/pdf8/785194.pdf?ATCLID=205272551&SPSID=11862&SPID=695&DB_LANG=C&DB_OEM_ID=2400&KEY=AZACODJWVXENNFN.20110915220504)). Since 1964 NDSU is 239-35-3 at home (.862 winning %).

I do not know the records vs. Opponents in DII and DI other than that Bryant is 0-8 vs. CCSU and Monmouth and 0-4 at home vs. CCSU and Monmouth.

I'm hoping that a Lehigh fan with better internet capabilities than me looks it up. Roughly i came up with this.
Against PL teams since Goodman Stadium opened in 1988
Bucknell 7-4
Colgate 6-4
Fordham 10-0
Georgetown 5-0
Holy Cross 5-6!!
Lafayette 8-3
Towson* 5-0, not all PL games
Just by glancing i noticed Villanova and UNH are both unbeaten at Goodman. Princeton has also had good success on Lehigh's home turf.

I remember them for three reasons. First, that's the only home opener that NDSU has lost in the last two decades. Second, Emporia State had a really good running back called Brian Shay. Third, Jerry Kill coached them and he later coached SIU against NDSU. Heck, if NDSU hadn't thumped the Gophers last year, I think that'd he'd have been undefeated againt NDSU at three different teams.

Man, times sure do change. Imagine NDSU playing a home game in the 2010's against Emporia State. Fans would swarm Gene Taylor with angry calls/emails and probably many Bison fans would boycott the game. But in the 90's it was considered no big deal.
That's the thing that always bugs me. In the 1990's Division II had become THAT (Emporia State, MSU-Moorhead, Mesa State), and Bison fans didn't seem to care.

Then some people on Bisonville wonder why I get angry when I see Valley City State and Mayville State on the basketball schedule listed as regular season games. Cause some people feel embarrassed having to watch that kind of game. You can say what you want about me, but it makes me feel embarrassed to see North Dakota State University playing schools like Mayville State or Dakota Wesleyan in some games. Eastern Washington - 4-8
Idaho - 3-5
Also a healthy number of non-con teams are 1-0.
Western Illinois

Also, while Montana State's record at Wa/Griz is 2-11, they were a struggling program and U of M was an unfair monopoly for most of those games, so in reality and all fairness, MSU's record at Wa/Griz is 2-0.

Since 1980 Southern is 95-54-2 at Mumford Stadium. Jackson State has won 9 times in Baton Rouge in that span.
There is a disparity if Mumford Stadium was built in 1928 or 1938. If Mumford was built in 1928, Southern owns a 261-111-14 record. If it was built in 1938, then Southern owns a 245-99-13 record at Mumford. The coach with the most wins at home is, of course, A. W. Mumford, who had a record of 94-26-6 at home. Pete Richardson comes in second at 57-22. The coach with the worst record at home is Cliff Purnell at 5-9-1 if the 1928 issue is correct. If not, then Stump Mitchell owns the worst record at home at 3-6.
The most points scored and the largest margin of victory at Mumford was against Bishop College(TX) on 11-8-1952. The Jaguar Cats tallied 105 points, while surrendering 0 points in the process.
The most points scored against the Jaguars was 63 by Mississippi Valley State on 09-29-1984. Southern jumped out to a big lead during the game, but Willie Totten, Jerry Rice, and the offense of "Gunslinger" Archie Cooley got it going and the final scored was 63-45 in favor of the Delta Devils.
The largest margin of defeat was 47 negative delta points, when Texas Southern defeated the Jags 54-7 on 11-06-2010.
Currently, A.W. Mumford Stadium holds approximately(sp) 29,000 spectators. Before the 2009 addition of the field house and north end zone seats, Southern held about 24,500 spectators. Prior to that, Southern's attendance topped 30k quite a few times, most notably in the 10-17-1998 contest with Jackson State, in which Southern won 33-28.

I'm assuming you are saying this tongue-in-cheek. I agree that during the streak our losses to the Griz had more to do w/ putting an inferior team on the field than homefield advantage, which I think is what this thread is about. From '86 to 2001, the average score of the Brawl was 35.75-17 in Bozeman and 35.75-15.5 in Missoula, which shows just how much better the Griz were whether they were at home or in Bozeman. Since 2002 however, MSU has not had a losing season, meaning they were fielding at least competitive teams, and their record at Wa-Griz is 2-3.

Well, either I have it backward or that link does and I'll bet on it being me but I thought they played here first and then we went there which would have put the Cal Fullerton game at Dornblaser. I came to Missoula in 1986 and went to the first game in WaGriz and have not missed one there since and just don't remember seeing them there in 1987...but for some reason think it was the only game I went to in Dornblaser in 1985 when a friend was a freshmen at U of M and I came over for a weekend.

I guess it doesn't fall in line with those university's "missions".
I guess being a "Metropolitan Urban Research University" = "Eew, football is gross and icky, get it away from me!!"
In the process of moving to DI, UNO dropped football. The decision was made by their AD Trev Alberts (former UN-L linebacker) because they supposedly couldn't afford the move up financially. It kept its hockey team, which is well supported by fans. If you think dropping football is bad, you'll be disgusted to learn that in the process of moving up, they dropped wrestling, a sport in which they have 7 national championships. Oh BTW, when wresting was dropped, UNO owned the last 3 consecutive NC's. And people think their AD sucks....

FWIW, in predicting my over/under for the Big Sky, I have UND at 4-1 at home (losing to the Griz), which apparently nearly falls in line with their overall record at home. The game against Cal Poly was a tough one for me though and PSU will give them a game also.

Best I can tell through Colgate's record book, the Raiders started playing at what became Andy Kerr Stadium in 1939. The stadium was dedicated to Kerr at the start of the 1966 season, a 34-0 win over...new PL member BU. Prior to 1966, the stadium was known as Colgate Athletic Field
All of these are rough numbers based on me trying to count through the record book. It's possible I made a few small errors throughout
Since 1939, the Raiders are 167-82-4 overall in Andy Kerr Stadium (counting 3-0 in the postseason), for a winning percentage of .660
A number of teams are unbeaten there in 1 game, but the team with the most games without a loss to the Raiders is....Penn State at 3-0
Most wins by a visitor is Holy Cross with 14
Current PL teams all-time at Andy Kerr
Bucknell: 7-23
Fordham: 2-10
Georgetown: 0-4
Holy Cross: 14-12-3
Lafayette: 5-18
Lehigh: 7-17
(Just for kicks) BU: 5-8

I know what they did with wrestling. Very low thing Trev did. I heard somewhere that one of the AD people called the wrestling coach like an hour after they had just won the national championship (at the championship site) to tell him his team had been axed.

What is EWU's record in WA/Griz? It has to be the best of any team playing there more than once, doesn't it?
The Eagles beat us at Wa-Griz in 2005; 1997; 1991; and 1985 (the year before Wa-Griz opened) - so yeah, the Eagles have done well here.

If my data is correct, then we were 15-14-2 at Memorial Stadium. So according to my data, if we go from the 1928 figure, then Southern is 246-97-12 at Mumford, but if we go on the 1938 figure, we're 230-84-11.

And I answered your "time" question. Yeah UND is the only team in the CT zone..but what out our GWFC shedules, UND played conference teams in the PT zone. Their hockey team goes to Alaska. I think UND and its fans can take the 1 or 2 hour time difference. Its not like all our away games are in Hawaii. Besides when they get there the clocks are back 1 or 2 hours so that gives the team that much more time to prepare for the game. Reverse it when Cal Poly comes to Grand Forks...they lose 2 hours and have to adjust accordingly. This time zone thing is nothing new. When NDSU goes to Youngtown I am sure the damn time is not their first concern. I am sure when NDSU was applying (twice) to get into the BSC you were bringing up time zones...right?

Whoa, whoa, whoa. You took that exactly the wrong way.
It was just an offhand comment. Who likes coming home from a game at 5 in the morning?
That doesn't mean I was saying UND is stupid to have joined the Big Sky or that they're going to lose more games because of the time difference. Not at all.
And it only works against UND. Teams from the Pacific timezone who play night games in Grand Forks won't be negatively affected because their bodies will be on an earlier time. They'll get home earlier than you'd expect from a 3-4 hour flight.

You really try and make some odd points. I realize it's an offhand comment and not something you're glued to but the amount of actual time flying doesn't extend or decrease one bit so it's really only a matter of pretending that getting home at 3am is different than 5am somehow. You go home, you go to bed, then whenever you wake up you just start your Sunday at that point and move back into regular life from there.
Now the coaches do a lot of film work on Sundays so that would definitely cramp them a little bit but even that wouldn't seem to be to tough to work through.

This is my thought too, its not like baseball where they have a game the next day. They usually have Sunday's off then practice/game film study in the week leading up to the game 7 days away. So what difference does the time they return make...it only makes a difference if they arrive from the flight just before game time?

Thats what confused me at first. Football is played once a week the only problem is in the NFL you have a Sunday game then a special Thursday game. But not in college. Basketball would be different. Of course UND when in the GWC traveled from Grand Forks to New Jersey to Texas to Utah and everywhere in between. At least the conference schedule is more localized in a certain part of the country (along the Rockies). UND will get used to travel to EWU and NAU and when they win..time zones won't matter.

- the players are going to be so screwed up that it's going to affect the next week's game
