The good news keeps coming for Norfolk State men's basketball coach Anthony Evans.
His team spent a March weekend basking in the national limelight thanks to its upset win over Missouri in the NCAA tournament. Its top player, Kyle O'Quinn, is considered a likely NBA draft pick. For all that, Evans was awarded a contract extension last month.
And on Wednesday, the Spartans earned a score of 962 when the NCAA released its Academic Progress Report, matching the best mark during Evans' time as head coach.
The APR evaluates athletes' eligibility and retention on Division I teams and is used as an early indicator of eventual graduation rates.
