With all of the hype about the World Cup of Soccer(Football) going on around the world at present, we thought it would interest Fans of American Football to an article about how out of touch American's are on things that are going on outside the United States.

TUSAAF's Mission is about promoting the sport of Amateur American Football around the world, please realize that part of the mission is to let our own people "American's" realize that American Football does exist outside of the United States. We do not endorse the European American Football Federations but we will help try to get the word out that they actually exist good or bad. The World Cup of American Football will be played in 2007 in Japan. The United States will field a team for this event for the first time ever, No it will not feature professional athletes, it will be a good thing to see athletes that are not of a so called dream team put together for an event that means more to some then just another thing to add to their expensive den trophy case. It is a goal of TUSAAF to put out that American sports needs to try to go back where we once were with amateur athletes representing our teams not professionals. Maybe the American Spirit in sport will come back if we give the average player a chance to show how much it really means to play for and represent ones country with pride and respect.

I remember Emmitt Smith used to push for some sort of American Football World Championship, even wanting it in the Olympics. Just don't think it would float too well. We saw what happened when the USA dominated in softball...

Is this the same story somebody posted earlier where the players for the American team will be Montana Grizzlies and Washington Huskies?
