This should be a good game. Both teams lost 2 players to red cards. Pope will be a big loss for us since he great at defense. Luckly Ghana lost the two players that scored for them against the Czech Republic. Maybe we'll get our first goal of the World Cup (that we actually score).

Plus we have to be fans of Italy and hope they win so we can advance.

Looks like if we move on we'll be playing Brazil.

GO USA!!!

Actually, Ghana lost their 2 players from having 2 yellows in their first 2 games. Fortunately for us, it was their two goalscorers from the last game. Especially good for us given how much trouble they had finding the net in the Italy game, and even the Czechs (from the sound of it, they should have scored 4 or 5 goals).

While I'm a Pope fan, he's had a few tough moments in this Cup, his breakdowns being at least partially responsible for the Italian goal and Koller's goal last Monday. Man, I wish we had Cory Gibbs right about now. Both games tomorrow truly could go in any direction, but I've got a real good feeling for some reason. No idea whether or not it's accurate, but it's there, better even than what I felt before Italy.

I Believe! :)

I am waking up at 6 am to watch this one at my fraternity house with some of my brothers. I am really hoping that we move and I will be rooting for Italy as well to pull it out vs. the Czech's. I don't care if we play Brazil in the next round, the fact is that we are moving on! GO USA!

Furman's Clint Dempsey scores a goal to tie it at 1-1 on a great steal and pass from DeMarcus Beasley (the cousin of Appalachian State's DaVon Fowlkes).

Ghana retakes the lead on a LAME call for a penalty kick. The officiating (like usual in soccer, which has the world's worst refs) has been horrible in this tournament.
