I'll post the answer later..
Last weekend Kris Benson (Orioles) and Jon Garland (White Sox) became the first AL pitchers to hit home runs this year. Who was the first AL pitcher to homer in interleague play?

Josh Beckett (Red Sox) hit a home Run against the Phillies earlier this season, so the question is bogus.

Answer:
Rangers righthander Bobby Witt homered off of Dodgers righty Ismael Valdez on June 30, 1997. It was the first home run by an AL pitcher in 25 years.

Kris Benson was always a pretty good athlete and looked like he could do some damage with a bat when he played with the Pirates and the Mets. Garland looks pretty ahtletic too. A big, strong guy.

The other night, Mariano Rivera batted in the top of the ninth inning--first time in his career!

I really don't know/care. I get the questions from a reliable source that sends these things to my email.

Josh Beckett indeed hit a homerun in Interleauge Play this year for Boston during Rivaly Week so to speak when baseball gets its first taste of it with a single series in May, Beckett pitches for Boston of the American League and Philadelphia is from the National League.
Dont snap at people because your question was wrong wether or not the mistake had any relevence to the answer. He pointed out a error of fact.
I suggest you not look towards your emails as the all mighty answer to everything.
