Goat is back!!!

"McNeese football
McNeese State all-conference offensive lineman Miguel Gauthreaux has been granted another year of elibility by the NCAA.
Bridget Martin, the university’s associate athletic director and coordinator of compliance, said that she had been informed by the NCAA that the Cowboy standout will be allowed a sixth year in which to complete his eligibility.
“This is an extension of eligibility waiver which allows him to compete in his sixth year,” Martin said.
Gauthreaux had been held out during his first year with the Cowboys because he was recovering from knee surgery due to an infection. He lettered in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
Cowboy head coach Matt Viator said, “this is good news for us. We’re grateful to the NCAA and look forward to getting him back.”
Gauthreaux had missed all of last season after being injured during August camp and having to have surgery for an ACL tear.
The Plaquemine native had started 23 straight games for the Cowboys prior to being injured in the pre-season practice.
During the 2010 season he was a first team pick on both the all-Southland Conference and the all-Louisiana football teams, had led his squad in pancake blocks with 27 and had tied for the lead in knockdown blocks with 25. He had been a second team all-SLC pick in 2009.
The 6-1, 291 pound Gauthreaux has played both offensive guard and center during his career."

He was sorely missed last season and the OL was our weak link last season. We got a new OL coach and Goat is back!!
