Today I've heard rumours of UTSA joining CUSA and Tx State joining The Belch. With the few teams left in the WAC for FB, does that conference decide to be a non-FB conference?? Does Idaho, NM State and LA Tech decide to drop to FCS?? What happens now??
Any theories you all want to discuss??

LA Tech probably has a home in CUSA or Sun Belt. As for the rest of them...... MWC just takes the rest?

The WAC has value because of the stipulation of you must have a FBS invite. It may have to change its name and location but lots of schools want to move up.

The WAC will invite NDSU and instantly become a BCS conference. xsmiley_wix

The problem in luring FCS call ups is that many of the candidates are far from the WAC's current footprint. Joining the WAC means sending your other teams to Seattle and Denver.
UTSA and Texas state were supposed to join the WAC this year. So what will their status be this season? La Tech makes sense for C-USA or the Sun Belt. I can see San Jose for the MWC.

LA Tech will go to CUSA
I didn't know much about LA Tech, so I decided to go to their website: http://www.latech.edu/
How does a tech school get away with having a website that looks like it was designed in the 90s?

I think there will be three schools left that no one wants once it all shakes out: San Jose, New Mexico State, and Idaho. I think the Big Sky just found the answer to their unbalanced 13 team league, and back comes crawling Idaho.

No reputable school will take a chance at that disaster in waiting. Yes, they'd be FBS, but would be a virtual independent in terms of scheduling. Probably have to schedule 7-9 OOC games. Might get a couple home OOC games, but they would be against FCS.

The WAC is the GWFC of the FBS. Its just a starting point. I am sure the Big Sky would welcome Idaho back but I think the Vandals will do what they can to stay in the FBS without crawling back.

NMSU can probably get into the Belch. SJSU can get in the MWC.
Idaho needs to return to FCS

My thought are the last few schools standing find a new home in the west and sale the conference rightS to a prearrange group in the eastern part of the country.
Maybe I should buy it and sale membership to ODU, App, JSU, Liberty, JMU, Ga So and Charlotte.

Congrats on the move to stability. I think you guys in the Belt are a nice fit.
I find it funny that so many Tx State fans insulted the Belt and are now jumping for joy.
I told you guys the WAC wasn't going to last.
